next time set up your sled and come play... we chase NHRA drag racing... this year at Spokane, Kent, Walla Walla, and Boise (in years past also Mission BC and Woodburn OR).... if we had the money we could race almost every weekend... the BEST PART is when you get home you don't have to wash all the grass and dirt out of the sleds and the trailer
This year for Division 6 NHRA race of champions in the sled/bike class the final six were made up of four motorcycles and two sleds (one was me)... Zak P. from Boise took his sled to the finals and came up just a hair short of winning it all..
This past weekend in Spokane in crappy air (adjusted to 4,000 feet of elevation) both sleds ran ten flat at 130 MPH... when we are done tuning in good air (and traction) they should run 9.50-60... all motor no bottle or blower (Janet's is a Union Bay Motors 809 and mine is a Crankshop 809)... BTW if you are going to build a sled for asphalt racing... stay away from blowers... NHRA is banning them in the 1/4 mile (unless OEM) due to two fatalities back East (180 MPH+ into a wall)
