Looking for side panel vent for M8

Having put a set on my brand new sled and torn them off within 30 miles I'd highly recommend against it. I bought a great looking set aluminum vents from mountain fit, nothing against them or thier product, but if you ride near any trees, you'll hook the vent on a stump, log, tree, rock, etc and instead of sliding around it like with a stock panel they fall into the vent holes and rip off the side panel, break off the hood latch, fill the clutches with snow, etc.

they look great, and the idea is great, but in real world use they suck :(

I went back to stock panels, I MAY cut a set of boondockers gills in at some point because I think they'd work but I don't think they're worth the $200 they're asking for them.

Gill vents are the way to go, and only needed on clutch side IMO. I bang into a lot of trees and they hold up to abuse. Just search gill vents. :beer;

Here is my 2 cents!!! The 2 cool air vents are the best!!!!!

They look awsome and work even better!!

They are trampolien mesh then the hydrofobic so they dont ripe!! Awsome is all i can say!!! Hope that helps some!!:beer;:beer;

Don't cut the entire "window" out if the side panel. Use a hole saw and cut a pattern of holes into the panel and overlay the vent. This will give air a way through and add some support as well. Use a few extra rivets than what comes with the kit. XXXModRods has a nice vent. They use a heavy plastic mesh screen and line the inside with fine mesh(clutch side).

fastlanes, wouldn't leave home without them, and as said above DO NOT cut out the entire area behind the vents!!! use a hole saw, you will be glad you did:)

XXXMODRODS vents are top quality. I have the headlight delete, gage vents, and clutch shock tower vent and they all fit great and work even better. Fast shipping and responce to Email also.

I ride trees and i ride the black hills a lot where the stumps are HORRIBLE and i absolutely love my 2 cools. They have not ripped when hitting stumps while carving, and they rarely clog up with snow only like one time that i have noticed. They are made of a strong outer mesh with pre filter underneath and the mesh covers up the frame which gives less for stumps and rocks to catch on and builds up way less snow compared to vents with the frame on the outside.

Gill vents

I have the gill vents and like them a lot. I liked them because I could also put the graphics on them.

Do the gill vents "vent" as well as others? Just seems like the wouldn't breath as well? Also do they ever get clogged with snow while carving?

Mine were clogged with snow most of the time. I couldn't recommend them based on my experience. I'm switching back to 2coolvents.
