looking for set-up info on '06 Outlaw

hey guys, i'm looking for info on what set-up works best for the rest of you. i have an '06 Outlaw that is basically new in the box, very little time on it and absolutely box stock except that the ski mount is not the newer set-back one, it was swapped at the dealer for the older style. anyway, i want to upgrade the clutching, the power block primary is not exactly what i would call an effecient clutch. i am looking to upgrade to a TRA3 and new secondary, but i'm illiterate about Ski-doo clutching. i have a very good background with Polaris style clutching, but never got into Doo stuff so please be gentle. also what is everyone running for jetting at sea-level?? it has the Jaws pipe and filter pods stock. thanks for any info can slide my way, Brian.

I found a p-85 cut for ski doo taper on e-bay and run it I use a almond blue primary and ground my weights to 55.5 grams. I run a attac with 330 main jets. works good for 0-4500. there are other guys running the tra. but I'm like you and had Polaris back ground.

are you from Alaska? if so where are you at? I'm running a TRA 3 and it works really well, 12.1 grams of pin weight with 299 ramps. If you can find a TRA off a 600 summit it will have the spring, ramps and pins you need in it. The next step is get rid of the multiangle helix in the secondary, i found a straight 44 works way better in the soft stuff.

If your in south central area we should get together and ride, Ibbroken and I would be happy to have you along.

thanks for the fast replies, i appreciate it. i live in Wasilla, for you local (ish) Alaskans. i would love to check out what you have done to your Hawks and maybe steal some ideas if you don't mind, especially the attac. i guess i need to get a tach installed before i get to crazy with swapping clutching around, figure it will make things far easier. so, from what i've gathered so far, pretty much everyone is ditching the stock clutches and going for something better. i can get a Comet primary cut for Doo taper for about $300 brand new right now. so what is everyone running for secondaries?? i was thinking of going with a Poo button seondary and runnign a Poo belt since the center to center distance is 12 inches. it's a little late in the year for dialling this thing in, but hey my 1200 IQR project is almost done and i'm always wrenching on something. thanks again for the info, and i look forward to meeting some local hawk riders, later, Brian.
oh ya, here she is, hope this works, still not used to this forum.

S-H-A,
no it is not Tomas' sled. i bought it new from Miller Marine in the spring of '07. i only got a couple rides on it that spring before the snow was gone. did not get any time on it last winter, ya i know its shamefull. i was in a pretty good funk after getting my Pro-x 800 stolen and crawled into an anti-riding hole for the rest of the year. as of this year, i have been building another project that has consumed all my spare time. anyway it's WAY past time to get this thing dialled in and out on the snow, i hate having that much cash invested that is just sitting there. heard some volcanic ash is falling this morning, so it may be another winter cut short. but hey, there is always the option of trailering to Valdez for the super goods of the riding options.
