I live in Northwest Nebraska and have been sledding for 30+ years. I now find myself with no one to ride with. My wife no longer rides due to health and my kids are grown, flown the coop and they can ride about once a year. Most of my riding was a family affair and I have to find new riding partners or get out.
I have ridden the Snowies for the most part but have also done the Blackhills (not my favorite but better than sitting home), Big Horns and Dubois, but I am willing to try anywhere. I am 57 and enjoy off trail and pow riding but I am slowing down and do not do some of the things I used to do. I do not get stuck as much as I used to either! I ride an 010 800 XP with a 154 and have two 04 Revs with 151's, as well as a 4 place enclosed. I don't care what others ride as long as they are having fun and help each other out etc. and are willing to share in expenses, experiences, and the enjoyment.
It is not my intent to sound pathetic but it certainly isn't safe to ride alone and I have to retool or get out. I love sledding and customizing my sleds. Every time I think about selling out I get depressed, but I have too much invested in the sport to have this stuff just sitting around. I am semi-retired (police officer) and now farm, so in the winter I am free to travel/ride anytime. I have a Duramax and can pull my trailer or hook up with other(s). rickster
