Looking for more power

After getting use to my 500 fan last year,I am thinking I want more accelleration of perhaps a liquid. It may not be the ideal machine for the conditions we get here but I love it when we get deep snow. This year I will take it on the trails up north and see how I can handle it.
So my ? is are there any downfalls to geting a liquid and how about a long track if I come across one (no mountains here) should I stick with a short track.

Answere's

Scroll down to the bottem of the page and click on archive's you can find some old thread's about the 04's and 05's. Where about are you from?? Update your profile. You might be closer to another Hawk owner than you think. Later... Tom

O.k trying to find some info on 03 and 04 600's
Here is what I seem to have come up with so far
04 hawk had bad rings
loud exhaust made by Jaws performance
Taller suspension
600 small block or 600 ho
503F sits 4" lower then 600HO

Although I am a big fan of quiet exhaust I heard the 04 exhaust was made by jaws perfomance and the do have a great rep for designing exhausts

1)Can anyone explain this
Anti darting guides should be reversed to outside of ski edges 05,

2) What years did they make the 503
3) What years did they make the 600
4) What years did they make the 600 ho
5) Was the ho only fuel inj.

6) Any changes between the 03 and 04 600
7) What is the easeist way to measure the track to see if it is 121" and what size tracks did the 503 and 600 come with
8) What should the compression be on 503 or 600
9) How long did rings last on 04 and was that problem only on 04

Does anyone have pic of an 03 and 04 600 carb just wondering what the graphics look like

Is there any sites with all the previous year hawk specs and pics

the 600 started in 04 , they are all ho motors , none had fuel injection , useually you can just look at your rails , if they dont have any extensions bolted on your sitn a 121 , 04s had moly coated rings and the moly would flake off , they might last a season or only a couple hundred miles no set time limit then they break and boom , the suspension is just a matter of changing the mounting hole positions to get it to set 3 to 4 in lower and ride better and the shocks are valved a little different stock . 600 comp should be 125 to 130 lbs . the carbs are flatslides , hope this helps
