Looking for cabin or land

I am looking for a cabin & or land (to put a cabin on) on less than 1 acre up there. Anybody know of any? Thanks

Up where? Snowy's?

There are 20 lots that are all 1 acre pieces that are ~ south of the Spruce Mtn Lookout. I haven't been down there lately but I think 50-70% of them have cabins on them. Look up Carla Spiegelberg(sp) in Laramie and see if she can help you out. My parents bought and sold one of those lots for less than $20k a few years ago.

I don't know of any other lots that are on an acre or less.

Cabins

Winter Creek Condo's has a couple of their cabins for sale. Good Luck in your purchase.

Not anymore the last acre sold for $74000.00, with a well, the last cabin sold for $280000. But Carla did have a unfinished cabin listed around $190000

Is that 20 acre area all built out with cabins then (other than the $74k lot)?

I won't tell my folks what the land is going for :) I looked back and I think they bought/sold that about 8-9 years ago - so it's been more than a 'couple' of years.

We bought our acre in 2001 for $19000.00, but the interest is big up there. Currently there are 11 cabins on lots. All current owners of empty lots don't want to sell, they've all been contacted several times.

And its been a 'couple' of years when I was a 13 year old helping my dad and rinker set up the 20 acre mining claim for homesites in 1966. It was the Beulah mining claim and the mine was smack in the middle of the 20 acres. I remember when they dropped a suction line and pumped and pumped and pumped and pumped and pumped and pumped, til the water level in the mine dropped a few feet. The next morning it was back to original level. They then dug a lateral water line through the east-west center road for homeowners to tap into. I am not sure if it was ever utilized. Still no power to the sites as far as I know. From what I can remember (and I still may have the quotes) it was going to cost $6000 to $8000 to have Carbon power bring electical service to the site.

Went up there a couple of years ago to just see what developed. I don't really know what they bought the claim for but maybe somewhere I have it.

I do have a letter from the forest ranger at that era, chewing out dad for moving the slash onto forest service land when they put the roads in with a John Deere 440 cat.

I'm feelin' old now

The work on the waterline wasn't in vain, a few still use it. My cabin is just above the mineshaft and we pump water directly up from the flooded mine shaft, its actually not bad water. Stop by sometime it would be interesting to talk with someone with knowledge of the history of the developement, we have the cabin with the red metal roof.
