I am taking a stock 97 MM700 out to 153" with a Nytro MTX skid and a 153" Maverick. I just opened the chain case to find 22 x 40 gearing. That's not going to work at all.

I need an 18 or maybe a 19 tooth upper sprocket. Please send me a PM if you have one you aren't using.

Thanks

Go to a 42 on the bottom so you don't have to go so small on the top gear. I have used an Arctic Cat 42 for years and used to run an 18 tooth with it but any amount of chain stretch can strip the teeth off that small gear,Ken.

like was said 42 on bottom and 18-19 on the top, lower the better, but keep the chain tight. I ran 16-42 until I broke the 16. it would only due about 60-70mph top end but it got there in a hurry and nothing could beat it out of the hole and for about 300 ft.

Ok then, I went to a 42 tooth lower on my RX-1M so that would be great.

I think I'd want to go 42 x 19 if I did it. That would give me a 2.21 gear ratio. A 42 x 18 would give me a 2.33 gear ratio. A 42 x 17 would give me a 2.47 gear ratio but, that's getting pretty low since this sled will be used on the trail as well as the powder.

The 40 x 18 gives me a 2.22 gear ratio and a fellow has an 18 tooth he'd like to sell.

So does anyone have a 42 tooth lower gear for sale?
