Been considering a sled for my kids 600-800 would be fine I see a lot of polaris for sale. After reading forum looks like they had piles of headaches. I do not want another problem child sled.

Just because they have the "fix" doesnt mean there is not cylinder damage or future problems?

Looking for Swers to talk my into or away from these sleds.

Otherwise I will keep hunting for a deal on a doo 600 or doo 800 09-10.

Thoughts?

D8s are reliable after installing "fix" kit. only one problem reported so far, but it was proven that kit was installed on cracked (or scratched) cylinder.
Having D8 for kids might be overkill, but you must count for different factors - where you ride, how old your kids are, kids weight, how long they ride already, how often you get out to snow.
Poos are more rigid than other sleds, and finding parts is easier, so Poo is right choice, but again, you have to count for all these factors.
Personally i would go with 600 for kids - they use sleds with less care, and 600 engines are harder to kill.

Depends on how old your "kids" are and how they take care of their toys!

Bought both my boys 600's, one went 6500+ miles without a problem then mechanical seal gave out and took out the crank and squeeked the pistons. Converted his '11 into a 700 and now he likes it even more!
2nd son's 600 was a used and neglected Dragon SB and had problems every 500 miles or so. Converted it into a carbed engine setup and been happier since, started it over the weekend and was great to smell 2-stroke exhaust again...
