looking for a place to rent at the snowies doesnt have to be anything great just something where we could sleep at about anywhere from 4-9 of us. also would like it close to places to eat and a bar! :D

Snowpsychos here on the board has a nice "cabin" outside Centennial that he rents out on a nightly/weekly basis that will accomodate your group very nicely.

Check out Winter Creek Condos - They have a variety of cabins to choose from, 2 miles from Centennial which has the food and beer for ya:)

I would recommend Winter Creek Condos as well.... great hospitality and fun... and VERY snowmobiler friendly. The family is VERY active in supporting the sport of snowmobiling.

PS Wes, care for some salmon and crackers?

Gotcha on the bar but had to mess with ya.

I'd say that Mountain Meadow Cabins is the best location. No bar but you can get down to the Lodge for dinner, gas, etc. If you need a bar you can drive down to Centennial.

we usally stay at the snowy mountain lodge but we want somewhere we can go that if they got 3 feet of fresh powder we could go. like something we want to rent year round. theres a house at centennial the last house on the right side before heading up. and were not welcomed at mountain meadows brother pissed em off!

Mmmm! Salmon and Crackers! Speaking of fish, do you have those pics of me fishing with my sled? Here is two pics from my last few rides - June 13th amazing traction and speed going up Lake Marie hillclimb and June 29th on top of the hill. Oct 21-June 29th was an amazing season. Did I mention I love Winter Creek? You drive to your front door. Full kitchens with cookware and dinnerware (plus bbq's). All you bring is your food. Cable tv in most of 'em and DVD players in all of 'em so you can throw in a sleddin' video and tell your buddies how you can go bigger than all of those guys:) Plus the best part is you can leave on your sled in the morning! Use your truck to drive in to Centennial (2 miles) get gas (which is much cheaper than gas at the lodge) go to the bar, get some grub whatever, sleep in your cozy place, get up and do it all over again the next day! Hope to see you guys again this winter. Maybe we can ride a full day without any 'incidents!'

Is there always enough snow to ride out of Winter Creek and is it a trail, or along the highway? Thanks

Depends on the snow year. This year we rode comfortably from January 1 - the end of March. December and April had dry areas on the road and the lower trail. It didn't bother me, It wasn't enough to damage carbides or hyfax. Trail 338 is 1 mile from the cabins, all road, cross Hwy130 to get to the trailhead. It has a few sweet meadows to play in on your way to intersect T trail - Left to Albany or right to Libbey Flats.

The other option is to ride Barber Lake road up to the Greenrock parking lot. Its six miles from the cabins to Greenrock, you go behind the ski hill and come out on the road thats on the left just before the cattle gaurds. You ride the snowbank edge on 130 for less than 1 mile, the rest is road.

Geeez if you are riding in June or May ever again we are there in a heart beat... I have to get over that Powder snob attitude, salmon and crackers, caviar, and fine wine on the hill attitude. . Sweet Pics. Tell the Gang Kevin and Shawn all say high.

I will put up some pics in a minute for you.

Cheers
Shawn
