Looking for a member here, who built his own running boards a while back. Help me out

Hey guys. I'm looking for a certain member on here. I have no idea what his user name is or anything, but I heard from a guy on HCS that this memeber I'm looking for, built his own custom running boards for his sleds for many years, also did his buddies sleds. The guy said it must have been a year ago or so since he saw the topic about this. I tried the search thing, and couldn't find him, so I'm wondering if any of you might know anything about this? Or what is user name was/is? I'm thinking of doing the same thing to my sled, so I would like to talk with this guy if at all possable.

Thanks.

??? Need more info. Building them out of what? for what sled? Fabcraft makes some with screen in them, go to their website. I built my own tunnel with boards like that, (built them like this years ago in southern BC for hillclimbs and have been doing it ever since). Marcuso was making extrusions for Ski Doo's. F-Bomb has some boards too, search F-bomb Racing on the web or on here, Better Boards and Snow Eliminators are some others you might want to check out.

Sorry, the sled is a 2000 600/700ves XCSP 136. I have a tread going in proformance/modified about doing this. All the info is in there. I started this topic to try and find out who the guy is who did his like this. So yeah, if you know him, please let me know, I want to find out how he does his, because if he has used em for many years then they must work.

Yeah it most likely was R_8_N that this guy from HCS saw on here. But he didn't make em himself, he got them made by Fastrax. So it could still be a diffurent guy, I was told he built them on all of his sleds, and on all of his friends sled for many years. So I don't know. I'll send this guy the pics I found of R_8_n's sled, and see if it's what he's talking about.

H2Otoys did a set like that on one of his sleds. I had pics of it, but haven't found them yet. LSB has the sled now if you want pics.

Ok, no you wouldn't have sent me any pics last year, bacause I joined here right before I started this topic. lol But I did get your pics that you sent yesterday, thanks I ton, I replied to your email, so there's a few questions in there.

I was the guy on HCS that directed 600xc4me over here.

The guy that I'm talking about either bought or made the traction strips himself, then cut most of the running board out(leaving the roll edge there). Then he welded the traction strips to the roll edge and tunnel.

I'm pretty sure I saw it here on SnoWest but maybe I'm mistaken. It would've been on the old forum since it was a year ago or longer.

It was not F-Bomb, and it was not any kind of running board insert. It was custom rectangular pieces of aluminum with traction nubs on them, he may have bought them somewhere too.

that sounds like my old chassis... i sold it to LSB on here, i cant find any pictures but i'm sure he has some or can take some.

i plasma cut out the entire running board and left a small lip on the tunnel edge and then there is a 1/4" lip left on the extrusion end. i used cat running board extrusions and just cut them to the spacing i desired for each chunk and welded them in place. it worked extremely well and only cost about 50 bucks for materials. i will tell you it was a royal PITA doing it. not worth the time to do it. just buy the eliminators from f-bomb and be done with it.

contact LSB on here to send you some pics or have him post them.
