looking for a good a-arm/shock upgrade for the pro

buddie took of his left side stuff so needs to be replaced. being a man of his means this means an upgrade;) looking for a good combo, doesn't want to go wider so the holz is out. let me know what your running and what you think of the setup...

Had a chance to ride a pro with the Timbersled Barkbusters and Zbros shocks. Pretty amazing difference. Made the stock setup feel inferior. I haven't rode one, but the CMX kit looks intriguing as well.

The Holtz set is available in (nearly) factory width, is well built and is about a 4lb weight loss.

Have stock A-arms but zbros shocks on mine. By far the best feeling shocks I have ever rode. For the price I feel they are hard to beat what you get. Triple rate springs, remote reservoirs etc. Also heard great reviews about their A-arms & I definitely wouldn't hesitate to order them if I trash one of mine.

You missed the 10 threads about them spontaneously folding in half and being recalled by z-broz?

Yes I guess I did. My apologies been away for a while. I suppose you would want to avoid their A-arms but highly recommend their shocks.

I have had the ZBROS A-arms since last year. They have taken huge abuse and are still intact. They haven't damaged the module either. However, I seem to be going through rodends like I used to go through a-arms. Too bad they changed to metric as I have piles of the old inch size ends. Yes, I know i could use a 3/8" and tighten the heck out of it but it just doesnt seem right!

Hey duc,
When did Holz make a stock width set of A arms available?

Not sure why they advertise them as 41" set, with the narrowest setting my ski centers measure 39-3/8". My stock arms measured out just under 39-1/16th with the narrowest setting.

Even at their widest setting they are still 1-1/4" narrower when compared to an assault.

Take a look at Timbersled's Barkbuster IFS. I have the 38" on my '09 RMK and love them - very strong. As for shocks, get the best you can afford. I currently have Float2 on mine and they are way better than the stock shock that come the std RMK models.

thanks guys for all the replies, he went with the raptor shocks and the alt impact? a-arms. not sure of the name is correct for the a-arms but if the name is right sounds like the set he would need:)

The AI arms are sexy and light. The drop like 8lbs too!
