Anybody know of any dealers in the western US with leftover 16 pro's?

The local dealer here is sold out and I'm interested in taking advantage of the polaris rebate.

leftover 16 Pro's

Sounds like a bunch of them are still available in Canada. Made in USA so border crossing is super easy. My nephew just bought 2 of them last week :face-icon-small-coo

But if you ever need warranty work you gotta take it back to Canada...great website up there is "kijiji", kind of like our Craigslist.

cycle works in edmonton ab canada is selling 16 155's for $11500, thats 8700 us, not sure what they are going for south of the border.

It does not cost anything to import a Polaris snowmobile from Canada to the U.S.

But make sure you have the proper documents from the Dealer, and also make sure you go inside the border office and fill out import paperwork (you will need these special import papers if you plan on registering the sled in your name and/or getting a Title for it).

If you are from the USA you don't need to pay any Canadian tax on a VIN vehicle you are importing and registering in the USA. You will pay state tax when you register it.

If you buy a sled (or any other vehicle) from a dealership in Alberta, Canada you have to pay a 5% Canadian GST (Goods and Services Tax). In BC, you also have to pay PST (Provincial Tax), which is another 7%. I just purchased a used 2013 Ford Supercrew from a Ford Dealer in Calgary and had to pay 5% tax, then another 8.6% WA State sales tax to register it.

No refunds on these taxes for USA citizens either, that went away years ago.

If you purchase from a private party then most of the time you do not have to pay any tax.

There is an exemption form dealers can use. Just like if a BC dealer sells to an AB resident (who will register and use the vehicle in AB), only the 5% is charged (no PST). Most just don't know what they're doing, unfortunately.

What does it cost to bring them back to the states?

Fuel conversion is your major cost to bring them back to the USA. Canuck sleds are certified to take fuel in liters and US sleds are in gallons. Canadian sleds can run on straight gasoline or a gasoline blended with Canadian whiskey. US sleds run straight gasoline or gas blended with ethanol.

RPM gauge also needs to be converted form Metric to USA.

Track length needs to be converted from meters to inches or serious trenching issues may occur.

800CC engine size needs to be converted to plain ole cubic inches for US approved sticker.

Shock pressures must be converted back to PSI from KiloPascal.

Payment in Canadian or Monopoly money is acceptable.

Can't think of anything else that needs to be done.

Fun center in Durango co....picked up 163 today...ask for Pete (owner). Tell him Walter sent you. 970-259-1070

Only has a couple left.

Can I ask what you paid for that sled? I told Pete I'd give him $10,500 out the door for a 2016 Pro RMK 155", which was priced around $12k. He said he wouldn't or couldn't do it. I said they have them in KSL up near Salt Lake City for that price right now. He still wouldn't meet that price.

Next weekend I took a nice little road trip to SLC and bought a brand new 2016 Pro RMK 155 holdover for $10,500 out the door from Golden Spike Equipment in Tremonton, and had a fun weekend in SLC.

Had a very similar experience in 2012 at Funcenter. That time I bought a new sled from the Polaris dealer in Glenwood Springs, CO for about $1500 less than Funcenter price, and they even met me in Montrose to deliver it to me at no extra cost.

It was a little over that, but not much. Pete asked me not to tell anyone the exact numbers. But he was the only one I could find with in 5 hours that had a 16. And for a couple hundred I was traveling very far.

I would have gladly paid a little over $10,500, but that offer wasn't even proposed. It didn't seem that he was going to budge from the sticker price of $12k. You either have some smooth talking skills, or a good personal relationship.
