looking for 2nd sled

I am new tho this sport and would have to say im hooked. I bought a 2003 Polaris 550 sport touring over the summer and have used it quite a bit this season. I need some reccomendations on what to buy next. I want something that I can start going off the trail with. I want to stick with Polaris. Im very happy with what they make. I dont need anything superfast or tricked out and definitley nothing brand new. Maybe like the 02 or newer range. From what I have read ....if it has a longer track its more of a powder sled? Do the length of the lugs make a difference? Send me some ideas and thoughts

Your 550 is air cooled and makes 65 HP.It also has a 136" track with probably 1" paddles,it's an OK trail sled but if you want to get off trail you'll need something with a longer track and bigger paddles.

First off buy a liquid cooled sled,they make a lot more HP.600's from 02 on have about 120 HP:face-icon-small-hap.

Depending on where you ride/what sort of terrain you want to ride will make your decision.If you want to primarily ride trail,but play in the powder once in a while and you live in the midwest a Switchback with a 144-1.25 might work for you.

If you want better deep snow performance an RMK 600 144 with VES with 2" paddle may be a better choice(they made them from 02 up I believe).I'm in Colorado and the wife and I primarily ride deep snow.The 144-2" can ride trail and not over heat especially if it has ice scratchers.Her sled is more fun/easier to steer on the trail in the low snow conditions than my 155 track with 2.4 paddles.

Welcome to the sport:clap2::clap2:
