Looking for group to ride with in Flathead area. Looking for group to ride with that knows the country and willing to show me around. I'm not a super-experienced rider, and my 133.5" XLT isn't exactly big-backcountry material, just looking to ride with a group who doesn't mind having a 36-year old around on an outdated sled who needs to be schooled. I've been trying the last couple years to get back into sledding after being away from it for about 10-12 years.
I've been to the last Flathead Snowmobile Association meeting and am planning to join. I don't have a lot of extra money to go riding every weekend, just looking to be able to go to some areas every once in a while where I can hone my skills with someone so I'm not riding alone.
I have beacon, probe, shovel but have yet to attend a formal avy class, and that is one area I would like to be able to practice with somebody in between rides. I know there is the GCAC's field/classroom course coming up late next month, and the Mike Duffy class at Penco in a few weeks but I don't know yet if I will be able to attend either one.
Thanks for looking and I hope to be able to tag along with somebody. Just don't be suprised if I get Sled Envy if yours is newer than mine...
