Limiting straps on Nytro MTX

This is probably a dumb question, but what are the limiting straps for, and where do I want them set?

It seems like if I tighten them up it will decrease my attack angle. This is good. But wont that take away the travel.

Please tell me what the effects are of all the way in vs, out. Thanks!

The tighter they are from what ive heard is better cornering and handling and the more loose they are, the weight gets transferred and causes you to lose performance in cornering and handling and increase ski lift.

Maybe cornering handling isn't that important with an MTX, in my book anyway, so i would describe it as:
Loosen the strap - More transfer (more ski lift on throttle), less ski preassure, but worse attack angle.
Tighten the strap - Skis more planted on the snow (less wheelies), more weight on the skis, better attack angle (sled floats better in powder, especially with Simmons Gen2 skis).

I prefer the straps rather tight in loose snow, and when the snow settles i loosen them a bit to lighten the steering effort.

My experience is that with the Nytro (08s and 09s) the skid has too steep of an attack angle for powder riding. When I had my strap even halfway out it would trench to china if you were in powder. I sucked it up as tight as it would go and I was able to climb and boondock without getting stuck NEAR as much.

^^^they are right on the money though...

tighter strap = more ski pressure (may cause the front to dive in powder)
loose strap = more transfer (easier to wheelie, but sucks in pow. it does okay in the spring when you have more setup snow)

Motojunkie is 100% correct, had the same experience. If you don't pull them up all the way, the Nytro trenches like crazy in the powder.

I've got mine sucked up, still trenches, but there was a noticeable improvement. Now I only get stuck 3 or 4 times a day. :D
