Limiter Strap setup?

I have a Summit 800X 144. This last summer, I tightened up limiter strap to help its manners on the trail (worked on my trail sled, figured it would work on mountain sled). My 2 rides this season, I've noticed that all I do is leave one heck of a trench and get stuck everywhere(to the scowly looks of my riding partners). It was too iced up to adjust it on the last ride, but for those of you that know more about suspensions than I do, why did it do this? Where is the best position for the limiter straps, loose or tight? I didn't have those problems when it was loose from the way the dealer originally had it setup. Thanks.

Yeah. definitely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let it out all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It allows the track to work in the deep stuff, as you found out.
