Lightweight Secondary Spring Cups?

Speedwerx (pix) and SSI both have them. Anyone have experience with these. What other clutching adjustments need to be made? I would think at a minimum a different secondary spring to counter the weight reduction, maybe?

i dont know about cat but that part doesnt move in a poo secondary so it shouldnt effect the spring. Its about less rotating mass which is always a good thing as it helps spool the sled up quicker

I have one, haven't installed it yet. ill get it installed next week and report back. But with that being said I was planning on clutching it at the same time.

Shouldn't have an effect on the spring. My ZRP one is a bit of a press fit on the splines so it definitely isn't moving in there.

Unless you’re going for the ultimate lightweight set up, it’s not anything you’ll benefit from. Won’t affect your clutch and you don’t need any other special parts if you buy it.

The bdx one comes with nice rollers

Speedwerx ya have to order them separately.

I ordered the derlin washers to prolong the life of it

Have one in both my acenders with no problems

No changes needed with just the cup

Didn’t ride before or after so no idea if it was noticeable or not. Figured while I had it all apart to install the clutching and have it balanced I would add it. Its only $ right? Lol

On install it was TIGHT on the splines. A few whacks with the old bone hammer aka my hand and it didn’t want to seat. A few very lite taps with a dead blow and still didn’t want to seat and wasnt sure if it was right so didn’t want to drive it home. So took it all apart to try just the cup on the splines. Tried different indexes and found a position it went on more readily. Sled and all parts were 40 degrees or so. Warmed the cup up with heat gun so was hot in hand but could still hold it indefinitely so not smoking hot. Slid on nice in the general indexed position. Reassembled and it slid on fine warm in the general indexed position. I see speedwerx is also working on a 3 roller design

I saw some of the Polaris guys were running some 3 roller setups last year. Must be working its way over to the Cat stuff too.

I use the clutch bolt to push mine on with the outer sheave after it's started. Getting it off the shaft again is the crappy part. Pull on the sheave and tap the shaft with a hammer or tap it with a long dowel and hammer from the other side of the sled. The tight fit will help keep the splines from stripping in the aluminum cup though.
