Light sled vs Heavy sled steering

I own both heavy and light sleds. Heavy being hard to steer of course. I smashed my elbow and surgeon says no more riding stuff with handle bars. I just can't give up sledding . When hitting something under the snow, would the handle bars jar more violently on on the light or heavy sled ? My xm Speared my inner thigh bad. I believe that if on my RX1 it may not have been as bad. What's everyone else think ?
 
Yesterday I was jumping back and forth from my Pro to my Viper as my son was riding the other one, and a couple things stood out to me. First, I noticed the weight alot more then I would have like to.. But I could not believe how much better the ride was on the Viper with the added weight, and perhaps much better shocks. From the road bumps, to bumps in the snow, the sled took the hits far better then the Pro did, as the Pro got tossed around in the same scenario. Better shocks on the Pro could help that scenario I am sure, but doubt it would fix it all.
Other thing to note, when the sleds dart on the trail, the Viper and its added weight is much more difficult to pull the skis out of the tracks.
So that being said, as much as I love my Viper, if it come down to arm strength via injury or any other reason, I would take the easiest sled I could find to turn, pull over etc.. Lighter would be my vote. But it would also be a sled with a straight steering post...
 
Skidoo steering is the best for my grumpy shoulders but I ride an axys. Get a new 850. They moved the motor back enough, I think, to get rid of some bad xm traits. The xm would do, what I call, the rider forward twitch in Spring snow. The front jerks or twitches.
I went fom a pro to an xm because of my shoulders which made a world of difference but went back because of few dislikes. I got my wife an 850 and it is awesome.
 
Most will shake their heads at me , but I want to try an Apex with power steering. I rode a friends grizzly 700 with eps years ago and I noticed the front tires catching ruts and it was not jerking the bars like my Kawi 750 did. Very few Apexes with power steering around here and to make it mountain worthy is expensive.
 
I loved my Apex! But I was 10 years younger when I had it... do you think you'll be pretty limited to trails and just off trail riding with your injury? Besides the power steering stopping the jerking, I'm not sure what other benefit it would really have..?
 
I still have my RX1 and I love power. Deep snow I will take it over my xm . I ride in the mountains mostly. I have not rode it since the accident other than up the street. If the sidewinder had eps it would be no question.
 
Mind you , I have not rode in 2 years and never tried an apex with power steering. I don't know if a light sled with light steering is a better way to go. My fear is the right ski hitting a rock and the bars slamming my right arm back.
