Level 1 Avy Class?

I wanted to take my first Avy class and figured I should do it right if I am riding in the backcountry of Utah. Is the level 1 where I should start and is it enough for the avid recreational rider or too much.....

Thoughts on this course?

There is no such thing as too much Avy training.

Good point on the too much. however I don't want to spend 5 days in a class learning about forecasting and things I will not use. I do however want to learn as much as possible that is applicable looking for a good balance between basic and level 3 I guess.

forecasts are important tools

forecasting avy danger is one of the main tools. wind, temps, moisture amounts, sun aspect and many other conditions are critical in evaluation. always check the local current avy forecast but you need to temper that with knowing what/how the weather conditions will change the forecast..many times the weather forecasters get the weather reports wrong, sometimes by only 1000 ft of elevation. knowing how the weather affects ssnow is critical.
