my girlfriend has paid for a weekend over in leavenworth and we are taking the sleds! i need some help on where to ride, we are looking for good trail rides as she is not able to ride most off trail areas so help with this would be great! also i am planning on proposing to her that weekend as well:face-icon-small-hap so i am hoping to learn of a great place to ride to then "pop the question" so if anyone can provide me with directions on where to go or how to get there that would be great...also looking at the state sno-park map looks like the Blewett Pass Sno-Park is the on i will be using unless there is a closer one to leavenworth. thanks for all the help that will (hopefully) be flooding this thread!!!

Shallower is right outside Leavenworth with lookout on top usually the best groomed roads because of lake Wenatchee

Lake Wenatchee/Fish Lake is pretty close to Leavenworth. It's about 12 miles west of Leavenworth. As far as proposing, I don't know where out on the trail, but I hear the gazebo in downtown Leavenworth is nice.

The fire lookout on top of sugarloaf, its groomed all the way to it,and there is plenty of snow up there just rode two days there

Try Eagle Creek--It's only a little drive up Chumstick Hwy and then a quick jaunt up the hill from there up to Sugarloaf.. Probally the quickest way for you to get business tended to... Good Luck Pal

Sugarloaf Lookout would be a good spot. You can ride right to the lookout on a groomed trail. Easy way to get there from Leavenworth is: Go 2+ miles on chumstick highway from Leavenworth toward Plain. Turn right on Eagle Creek Road and go about 8 or so miles to end of paved road and there is a snopark. Take the groomed trail from the snopark all the way to the lookout. There are maps posted along the way at major intersections. Good luck.

Agreed on Sugarloaf. I proposed to my wife at a fire lookout in Idaho, but we're both wildland firefighters, so it seemed pretty apt.

Also, lots of good riding up on that trail system, enough snow. It lends well to riding with a less skilled person, play spots near trails.

Thanks

Thanks to all that gave some ideas I really appricate it…it helps to get good info so I'm not so nervous…I will be sure to take some photos to share with all just got to hope the weather is nice around the end of January!!!

Keep us posted! I don't hear about too many snowmobiling proposals so this could be good stuff here.

do you know what the name of the sno-park is that you are talking about? thanks for all the help from you guys...now i just hope she yes:face-icon-small-dis

The only name i know is Eagle Creek? Probably not on the snow park list. It has a decent turn around and the groomer starts there. The road is paved and plowed to it. I even think that some people park in the groomer's field. But I have not.

59'er Diner rents old sleds, and a guy out of Leavenworth rents old sleds, and 4 wheelers with delivery available. Mountain Springs might require a guide and they all make you sign an agreement saying you will stay on the trail.

On the map that was shared on this thread, the sno park isn't on there. It's up Eagle Creek, but you're actually going up Van Creek to get to French Corral, which is point F on the map. If you were to go up Eagle Creek, you'd get to the top of Derby Canyon. I would also suggest giving the Moe Ridge loop a spin while you're up there, nice views into both the Wenatchee and Entiat valleys.

Update!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that she said yes and we had a great time. We went out Sunday morning and wasn't able to make it to surgerloaf lookout due to the weather and didn't want to get lost or stuck. We left today and it looked to be one of the best days of the year!!! If you want a real nice place to stay I recommend where we stayed its called Haus Hanika great people!! Thanks again for all the help on where to ride defently making a trip to go ride over there again looks amazing!!!

Nice Work!

That obviously is a great snow dance; you brought the POW! Now if we can just get three guys a year to do this?
