Leatt Brace for Snowmobiling?

like i said i have a thicker shorter neck, really anything more than a mx jersy made it uncomfortable, i wore it a coulple times with my thor sentinal chest protector and i had to put it on top of the leatte. it was really comfortable with just the jersey... when i sled i usually wear a underarmor cold gear turtle neck, a thermal longsleave and my outer shell that doesnt really have insulation but its got fleece inside the collar. just doesnt work for me sledding. but im considering wearing my sentinal chest protector undermyshell

I've seen these. I've always wondered if I would have a need for them...but then I thought that same thing about the TekVest too. Then I bought one in 2002. And then I wrecked REALLY bad.
At that point I was glad I had it because I hit a big haybale and pulled a fantastic superman over the handlebars at 85mph. I landed head-first. 2nd degree concussion.

It could have been MUCH worse. I was a lucky man.

If I buy a Leatt brace does that mean I will wreck really bad within a few months?


I wish I woulda had one last weekend while I was waterskiing. LOL.
We used a buddies new rope that wasn't broke in yet (WAY too stretchy) and my timing was NOT used to the dramatically stretchy rope.
I came out of my turn and wasn't locked in. I ate it BAD when I came into the wake. I cartwheeled and landed on my neck the second and third time. My neck couldn't turn for a week.

My neck still has weird twinges when I turn it to the side.
BUT on the plus side, If I grab my chin and do the ole neck cracking, it won't crack anymore.

It isn't like riding in the backcountry, but almost all the snocross racers are wearing them now. My son doesn't have the Leatt, but the OMEGA brace. Same protection, but less bulk and more freedom of movement. Just my 2 pennies.

i run the alpineatar neck brace and love it it has saved me a few times its a must if you are jumping or doing anything risky

I wear a Leatt GPX club II... (redesigned gpx club as of this summer) for sure going in my snow gear bag this winter....
