Dont have the wrong torque setting in your head. I over torqued and broke my secondary clutch bolt today. Had it set at 25ftlbs.... AND IT BROKE!!!!!! ALMOST a costly mistake. But between the 4 of us we managed to drill it and tap it out. hahaha

Anyways, I need a new bolt now. What grade bolt should this be?

Yes, its okay to laugh at me. :pound::laugh: Newb mistake.

That sounds really odd. You wouldn't think 25ftlbs should break that bolt -- stock is around 18 correct? Perhaps that was waiting to break on you in the hills and it saved you a bunch of grief.

Yeah i wouldnt have thought it would have broke but it did. Like you said im really glad it happened in my driveway and not out in the backcountry.

Maybe it had been over torqued in the past.

I'm thinking 5-8 ftlbs.

Who actually torques 1/4 in bolts?

the proper torque setting is 12 ft lbs for the secondary ;)
