Leaking exhaust?

I rebuilt my snowmobile this summer, and i put the pipe back on and now when i started it up its leaking exhaust out where the y-pipe meets the pipe, and where the can meets the pipe? is this something to worry about? if so how should i solve the problem?

That is fairly common.

To solve it, remove the Y-Pipe and;

1) Clean the gasket mating surfaces then wipe the cylinders and Y-pipe down with Brake-clean or lacquer thinner.

2) install new gaskets with HIGH TEMP silicone.

3) Let it cure overnight before starting the engine

I would just add;
There is an exhaust donut where the pipe meets the Y that wears out fairly quickly and should be replaced. I found a replacement at my local auto parts store for my twin pipes for like $3, just take your old one in and have them match it or you can get it from SLP or polaris for about $20. There is no gasket or donut for where the pipe meets the can, just use High Temp Silicon.

Make sure you have good springs and replace them if needs be.

As Kraven said make sure you clean off the pipe really well!
