Layering - what do you guys use?

Thought you'd enjoy it... you are in Gillette after all.:D

Seriously though... I like the cabelas thermax layers, b-wear vest, then a windproof outer shell. Works quite well.

I wear any kind of jersey up top as a base layer. I have a fleece KLIM jacket that I wear on the trail ride in and out and a the KLIM tog Jacket over that. On the bottom I wear shorts and KLIM tog Bibs (all weather conditions). I wear underarmor socks in my KLIM boots. I am always dry, I get a little chilly once in a while on the days where the temp is below 0 but I go buzz around for a bit and I'm just fine.

duofold long top and bottom, long sleeve shirt, jeans, fleece or wind breaker and then my polaris riding gear, i also use the smart wool dual layer socks, works great for a lot a years know:)

Light weight Poly-Pro top and bottom. Poly-pro socks. A heavy weight shirt over the lightweight if its cold. Cotton sucks.

Under Armour cold gear for the base layer. Then a layer of fleece topped off with Klim bibs and light coat. If its real cold then I add a layer up top.

+2

By the way- Smart Wool is not necessarily a friend...

The most egregious breach of the forest planning process was the mid-stream decision to allow snowmobiles access to the Forest´s portion of Mount Jefferson. This area gets little current use by snow machines, is a significant ecological area with high wildlife value, and is a rare spot in the Forest that has world-class backcountry skiing and an ongoing business catering to the demand for quiet recreation. In other words, an excellent place to be left quiet.

The entire 4,000-acre Mount Jefferson area should be returned to non-motorized use only. Pressure from the Idaho snowmobile lobby led to the southern portion being changed to motorized. The decision will harm, perhaps end, a backcountry ski hut business in order to provide snowmobiles even more area than their current 2 million-plus-acre playground in this Forest.
*barf*

Due to pressure from local motorized groups and aided by the Blue Ribbon Coalition’s extensive e-mail network and close ties to Idaho politicians, the Clearwater NF has extended the comment period on its travel planning process.
I'll just leave that there.

I use simply long johns (under armor, klim etc) and then a jersey and my outer layer. It's usually just fine. Maybe a bit chilly until you get going and active, and a bit cool at night on the way in but not that bad. If it's nasty out in terms of cold I will put on my fleece as a mid layer but that is a rare occasion.
