lastnight was fun... and a bit chilly

it as about 11 O'clock when i headed out from my sisters and i get about half way up the hill to the weight station and i see the headlights behind me disappear, reappear and disappear again.

then i see him hit the concrete barrier and grind along that until he hit the metal gaurd rail and he ground that until it ended a total of about 50 feet, and all that happened in about half a second.

it looked like the 4th of july under his truck then he pulled to the side and i turned around to see if he was ok. he was a bit shaken but fine. i helped him change the passenger front tire because it was thrashed.

the truck was an 03 f-350 with the 7.3 PSD it needed a new nerf bar on the passenger side, front bumper, turn signal and headlight bucket and it would be good as new, i asked the guy how fast he was going and he said 65 and he was in 2wd when we just got 4 inches of fresh snow and the roads were icy.

i asked him why he diddnt have it in 4wd and he said that it wasnt working all that great but it did work better when he put the hubs in......:eek:

but i got him on his way and told him to keep it in 4wd and under 55 and he should be safe :D:beer;

He might have had the rotary switch but sometimes a vicume line overheats or leaks and kicks it out unless you have the hubs locked in, instead of in the Auto postition. (found that out one time driving from Redgrade Wy to Gillette.)

wow, some people's kids! ...and get rid of those damn Fords with hubs! ;)
