Took the last ride of the year and had nothing but problems! First got off into a little deeper snow and hit a jump and broke the front track shock upper mounting bolt and spring retainer, lost my brand new 225# spring(found it later) and broke the mounting bracket. Limped it to the dealer to pay $65 for a bolt, 2 bushings, and a retainer. Mount the shock in the other bracket fixed, good to go right? WRONG! Go to start the sled and the pull rope snaps and flies into the housing! I dont have the 2 lower bolts removed so i cant get the cover off, Great! Start it with a strap around the clutch and lets ride! Find that my primary spring is broken, dealer didnt have one even close to what i needed! Oh well lets ride i will fix it when i get home. now i cant pull more than 7600 rpms and it engages at 2500. get down the path a little farther and hit another little jump and BANG, the can blows a hole in the side! WTF! How did this happen? Oh well its just a little loud now. start heading back to go home my sled starts smoking like crazy! Come to find out my blown out can rubbed and melted my chaincase cover! AWESOME!

In all that craziness if i shut down my sled i had to borrow his tow strap to i could wrap it around my clutch just to get going again!

I feel a little better now! Had to relieve some of the stress into the keyboard! lol

Man that sucks!!!!!!! Remind me to never invite you to go to Vegas with me. Hopefully you have used up all your bad luck for the next several years. Good luck with the repairs.

That blows! (pun sorta intended, lol)

Well, to look on the bright side, at least it did it at the end of the season:face-icon-small-win:face-icon-small-fro

:faint:Oh isn't life fun with a 900 Sounds like a lot of "little" problems all at once to spoil a good day....We must be loco...

Sounds like a successful ride to me...didn't have to call the chopper or spend 2-3 days retrieving a sled out of a hole...

At least you never gave up, and that's what matters. Makes you appreciate those perfect rides just a little more.

Good point dave! Well put.
At least the tow strap was only used as a backup starter!
Sounds like I'm not the only one with a long list for summer sled work lol.

those r some good ways to look at it i guess! yeah the list only gets longer as i look at it more but thats what i get for owning a 900! LOL:face-icon-small-hap

Thats funny! My boss calls me a black cat! LOL

Anyway i was looking at my sled and looking up parts for next year and besides pulling the motor out to fix my recoil i have to spend about 1300 dollars to make this sled like new and rideable again!:mad2: Im going to put new rear mounts in. I need a new chaincase cover and i mite as well get the billet one so this doesnt happen again. I have to buy a new can and im looking at getting a cpi cuz its only 200 bucks, what do u guys think about running that with a slp pipe? i need new weights and a primary spring and need to get it shipped out and balanced. 3 out of 4 A arms r bent and need to be replaced. I want new spindles cuz this thing steers like a boat! My woman said shes buyin me some c&a skis for a wedding gift.:face-icon-small-coo

cant really think of anything else but this sled is a money pit!
