I don't care for people whom abuse animals either. Makes me want to smack them!
I hope they get what they deserve one day.

He was just over a year old when we got him.... the breeder didn't say anything about it but I'm pretty sure she had placed him then got him back. He seemed to really like her... but STILL has issues with men, especially older ones with grey hair.

In some ways it would be easier getting a puppy. But on the other hand it has been very rewarding gaining his trust.... amazing how time and kindness and consistency can repair most of the mental wounds.
He has a great home now It is nice to hear you have worked with him and he is coming around with all the love...takes a long time for animals to trust again!
Puppies are fun...but lots of work too. Though I guess you've had to put in work as well, just in a different way. Every animal deserves a loving home.
The firsdt time I put a leash on him was something else. He freaked out and did this backflip kinda thing trying to escape. Clubbed himself pretty good on the side walk. Then wouldn't move. Just sat there. The first walk was about 35 feet.
But you stuck with him and never gave up...good on you Yammy...moar peeps need a heart like yours!!!
My wife had pretty much given up on him a few times... got many phone calls at work about "your @#$% dog....."
But she loves him now.
Gotta at least get that done....
LOL...it can be tough. Amazing what a kind heart and love can do.
