Dates Set.

OK, the dates are set for Jan. 28 and 29. We will ride Catherine Creek Summit on Sat. the 28th. We will meet at the Catherine Creek Summit parking lot at 9:30 am. Depending on how many people we have, will depend on group size and group numbers.

On Sun. the 29th we will ride the Ladd Canyon area which takes us to Anthony Lakes. We will meet at the Parking lot at 9:30 am. Same with the groups on this day as well.

If you are not familiar with our area, we will meet at the Flying J Truck stop just off of I-84 exit 265, a location that is on the way to both parking areas, from the La Grande area.

There is NON- Ethonal fuel available at Oak Street Shell 408 Adams Ave, La Grande. Which is on the far west side of town.

NON-Ethonal is also available at our Pacific Pride which is located at 2112 Island Ave La Grande.

I am still working on some of the motels for some kind of discount for snowmobilers on this weekend.

If there are any of you that would like to ride on Fri. the 27th let me know, I would be willing to take a couple of small groups off the beaten path. PM me.

As things come together more, or any new info comes up I will post it. Or if you have any questions feel free to ask.

The event is still several weeks off. It's still on...and there will be snow by then...at least there has been for every other year since snowmobiles were invented! Hopefully this isn't the first!

We have good snow for not having any. LOL Riding is not bad, the snow has set up some now. Everything is covered, there is about 2 1/2 feet covering everthing once you get up in elevation. If you get in the high country there is about 5 ft.
We can ride the lower trails but just can not get the groomer on them. Our main trails are groomed. Once you gain some elevation it is not bad, almost a shock to see as much snow as there is up there. You would not think that there would be any by looking from the valley.

But it is Still ON!!!

As of right now, we have enough snow to leave from the Parking lot at Catherine Creek, but no where near enough to leave for Ladd Canyon!

So we will still be having the public access tour at Catherine Creek on Jan. 28. We have thought about doing both days at Catherine Creek if we don't get snow in the lower elevation to leave from the Ladd Canyon parking lot.

If you have any question, you can PM me or post on this thread, I will keep everyone posted on snow conditions.

We are grooming Catherine Creek tomorrow so I will have a good snow report for everyone then. As of now it looks like we have about 5 new inches of snow at our warming shelter. Which gives us 27" at the cabin, which is always less than just up the trail a mile.

I will post more tomorrow.

We groomed today, not bad. We had about 6" of new. All of our main trails have good snow, for our little area. After this next storm we should have all of our trails workede. We were able to groom one of the lower trails today. Looking better..

Ladd Canyon is still sad!!

Well it is looking like we will be blessed with some good snow and good riding on the 28th and 29th. Ladd canyon is looking we will be able to leave the parking lot to access the snow. Catherine Creek is starting to look like a blast! was up there yesterday and there is about a foot above 5000 ft. After these storms hit should be tons of untracked! Cross your digets!

every day I can LOL, after being up there today, I have alot of grooming to do before next week end! I don't know if we will be able to keep up with it. There calling for snow above 4500 ft all next week. No more saying we don't have any snow. It was chest deep today.

Our club Pres. and I, have decided to only have the ride on Sat the 28th, for we have seem to found a overwhelming about of snow with more on the way. Our club does not have the man power to get everything groomed in both areas. So it can be a safe and fun time for everyone. So what we are going to do is spend the next 4 days trying to get everything groomed in the Catherine Creek area for this Sat.
So all plans are the same as far as times and location for Sat. 28th.
The Ladd Canyon ride for Sunday will have to wait for another time. We just will not be able to get everything groomed, due to the large amount of snow we are getting, and have received this last week and more on the way this week. So if you like lots of deep snow come join us for Sat. the 28th at Catherine Creek Summit.

This is what came last night, yesterday this area was beat down. About a foot of new, we have gotten around 4 to 5 feet in the last 5 days.
