LA gun buy back- grocery store gift cards 4 guns

i think thats the dividing line between urban and rural area's of the usa, these idiots have no idea what freedom there giving up nore do they care, that big eared idiot in the whithouse will take care of me mentality.

Um, or they murdered someone with it and want to dump it and get a walmart giftcard to boot. Pretty smart if you ask me, the gun can never be used against them to pin them to a murder.

I would be HIGHLY surprised if evey one wasn't gone over by the po-po before it was destroyed. (Or auctioned off.) Now maybe it couldn't be used directly as evidence or some crap, but they would want to know if they scored a weapon that was used in a murder, so at the least they can stop looking for it.
No questions asked doesn't mean no dna taken, lol.

What they need is a murderer buy-back program. Bring in a murderer, with enough proof to convict, get a $1000 gift card AND a gun!

PJ, tell me what is Montana would prevent me from that. I don't know...just asking.

Because I don't think you have enough population dumb enough to do that. Montana is pretty conservative right? You don't have the awful Liberal influence that we have in Colorado, meaning Boulder and Denver.

I was wondering the same thing. I live in a smaller city and we have a web site for the city, and there's a lot of us on there trading and selling guns all the time. Some of the folks around town think it should be banned because you can buy guns so easy LOL. Hope they don't go to any of our gun shows around here, cause you can by a gun there with out even telling anyone your name. Don't know if I would get much reaction out of anyone but I might as well be the first to try instead of sitting here thinking why didn't I try that LOL
:bounce:

I follow what you are saying. Makes sense.

We have a fairly liberal western part of the state. Pain in the arse.
Might be able to make it work.

Lol.

So what do we say in our ad so they know their gun isn't just "going back onto the street"?

I think it should read like this.......( Free cigarettes and diapers with every gun you turn into us, for every gun that has ammo with it you will get a added bonus of turkey vouchers good at any of the 2 grocery stores in town, you only need to get 10 vouchers to redeem your free 5lbs bird!!!!) Something to that effect should work over here on my side of the state LOL

Just that. Cause it's going in your safe, right? Or in the woods. If they are dumb enough to swap a gun for a gift card then it's all good.

^what if the gun is stolen or used in a murder? I wouldn't want a gun like that I don't care if they paid me to take it.

Just sayin'. Your not gonna get people who bought their guns legally to hand them over to you. It will be the crooks.

People who have inherited guns or the elderly will hand them in also.

There was a buy back where a woman brought in a Stg 44 worth $30,000+.

Don't wanna know? Don't ask. It's the crook that's evil, not the gun.

Set your own terms.
If they won't give you their name and address, then you don't have to take their gun in.

It wouldn't bother me that the gun was used to kill, I would be more concerned about the legal ramifications of having a gun used to commit a crime. I guess no one would just walk up and look at the serial number on my gun to cross reference it with crimes or anything, but still. It is like buying a used sled if it is stolen would you want it even if it is super cheap?

make them fill out some sort of "bill of sale" or something along those lines, if they're not willing to do that you probably don't want what they have anyway.

i don't see why one couldn't trade gift cards for guns or something of the sort, its no different than buying or trading anything else. i could see the fuzz coming up with some sort of bs reason why its illegal though. hell, just throw the add up and see if you get any takers, then go buy your stack of Wal-Mart cards after you get some interest then your not out nothin.

That kinda defeats the no questions asked thing, which is what draws them in.

I don't think you would have to worry about it unless you plan on using it for a crime yourself and getting caught. That being said, there really isn't a way for them to cross reference the SN# to a crime. Because guns used in a crime and collected as evidence aren't put back out on the streets. They either remain in a police locker or are destroyed. Only in Hollywood do they end up on the street again. And secondly, if a guy is willing to turn in a gun chances are that it is not registered and doesn't have a ballistics record. Most guns with a ballistics record are already in evidence and are being used as a cross reference to find other possible crimes committed with the same weapon. I'd think that you are pretty safe unless you rob a store with it, get caught and then they check ballistics and nail you for the other crimes. But simplly put, keep your nose clean. Buying, selling or trading guns privately is not illegal. Why do you think there are gun trader websites?

makes sense! Hell even I am definitely considering it. This would be a great way to get a gun for cheap.
