I'd like to say thanks to Sean at http://www.snowmobileavalanchegear.com/ for sticking his neck out and going the extra mile for me and going after BCA to get me the Tracker 2 that I ordered months ago. I had just about had my fill of the lame excuses that were being given to him and I was going to cancel my order and he made one more phone and that is all it took. My T2 came today.

Thanks Sean!

Funny, I was wondering what was going on. I ordered the Tracker 2 a good month or so ago. He did update me and tell me he was working on it. I got it yesterday. One of those cool things that I hope I never have to use. Seems simple though. Not sure I understand the 'P' button. Is it just for multi-burials? The instructions don't say much about it.

Sean with www.snowmobileavalanchegear.com use to be a full time snowmobile guide. The shop has been selling avalanche gear for 15 years. They have excellent customer service. I did some consulting with them this year. They only carry avalanche gear that I have found to be of the best quality and to be the most effective in rescue. No short probes, no small shovels, just the quality gear that actually works best. I have used all the products, they work. Mike Duffy

BugIto,
The "SP" button if pushed will give you the Battery strength. During the search mode, if held down and released "SP" will appear on the screen. The "SP" mode can be very effective in multiple burials. It reduces the search area of the beacon to a 70 degree window. If you find one beacon, you hold the Tracker over the found beacon while in "SP" mode and rotate it 360 degrees. The 70 degree window of search is similar to a lighthouse beacon. It will give you another distance reading when the second beacon comes into the 70 degree window. I can show you how to use it. Once demonstrated, it is very easy to figure out.
"SP" button can also be pushed when the Tracker 2 is switched from search to transmit. It does away with the alarm and goes directly to transmit.
More information can be found at www.backcountryaccess.com. Mike Duffy
