KTM300sx or KTM350SXF for snowbike

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2013 SX120 kit and have to decide which bike to put it on next winter. I have a 2012 250sx that I could put a 300 kit on or use my 2013 350sxf. I'm a 2 stroke guy at heart and have read up on all the 300 builds but haven't seen any direct comparisons to the 350. The 2 stroke would require me to buy the 300 kit, carb heater and 38mm carb or smart carb. 350 has a pipe and jd mapping controller on it already so it would most likely be just hook up and go. I'm a motocross guy and will spend more time jumping and riding in the trees than doing big climbs. As far as 4 strokes go the 350 is the only one I will own from here on out, no more 450's for me in the dirt. Opinions from guys who have ridden both would be much appreciated.

I've seen both these bikes in action (300 and 350, haven't seen a kitted 250) and it really depends on what kind of snow you are riding. Where are you going to spend most of your time in the woods?

I have rode a 350 on a 14 ST. It kept up with my 450 LT for the most part, but left a little to be desired. I would opt for the 300.

Most of the time I will be riding in 3-4ft of snow with maybe 8-10" of fresh in the river hills and ditches. Maybe a couple mountain trips a year but Im more interested in doing mx style riding. I got around fine on my 2moto/kx450 setup I had but it needed all the power of the 450. I just want know if I have to run the 350 wide open all the time to keep up and risk grenading it. If that's the case I will spend a bit more now and set up the 300.

You do have to twist the throttle on the 350 a lot more. It will hang with the 450s but you have to work it. The 300 will give you more power and it will spin the track in the deep better. You also have to deal with the carb vs FI... for some people it's an issue for some people it isn't.
