I know several have added a 6th gear to their sxf for use in a snowbike application.
I am a bit different, and I want to replace the first 4 wide ratio gears on my XCW to close ratio SXF gears (1-4 gears). Reasons to go with a XCW engine instead of SXF:
- Has electric start and backup kickstarter
- Has a bigger stator so you can run lights, heater, etc.
- Already has 6 speeds.
I have a 2013 450 XCW, I looked up the shaft part #'s for a 2013 450 SXF and there is only 1 digit difference on the main shaft, and the countershafts have the same #, here they are:
So the question is:
-will the SXF gears slide right into place of the XCW gears?
-Will I need to replace anything else besides those 4 gears? (I know for adding a 6th gear on a sxf there are several other components that need to be replaced to enable it to shift into the 6th gear)
Thanks in advance
