KTM 350xc or 530EXC ??

Has anyone run both bikes ? Is it worth to put the kit on the 350 or just keep it on the 530 ? How is the reliability performance of the 350 as a snow bike?
My riding buddy has both bikes and is not sure what one to put on the snow this season.

there is good discussion over on T/S FB page right now, lots of 350's on the snow rocking, 530 will need some sort of carb heat and smarty side pull would be a huge advantage....my vote goes to 350 if they both are gonna be stockish. 530 would get the nod with full exhaust and smart carb/carb heat/intake etc.

There has been talk here about the 350 being slightly underpowered but will still get you to most places with agressive riding and revs..

Both his bikes have the FMF full system on them the 530 has the carb mods done and Heater it runs flawless on the snow-kit. It is a bit of a bear for cold starts.
The 350 and 530 both have a recluse as well so very much the same as set up goes. A bonus on the 350 is much stiffer front fork over the EXC

Our thoughts were more along the lines of having a 30+pounds lighter bike with about the same amount of top end power but less torque.
He is also reasonably light at around 170 pounds. Our main concern is engine reliability. the rest should be a home run for the 350.
