What do you guys think of the KTM 300's and how does it compare to a 450? I like the fact of less wieght than a 4-stroke and that its easier to work on. Opinions?

know a few guys on ktm 300s and a few on gas-gas 300s. Both love the motors and the snap of a smaller guy but the grunt of a bigger guy. Could motor, if I wasn't 140 dripping wet after dumping in the river I would buy one in a heartbeat. Plus they have E-start now!!
I have a buddy with the 300, and he loves it. Does a lot of trail riding through trees. I went with the 450. I think there's only about 5lbs difference in weight, so it's not much of an issue. KTM makes an awesome bike. If you go with the 4stroke, make sure you get the E-start. I've owned every brand of bike, and I like the KTM the best. Of course, this is my 1st 4 stroke, so it's not a fair comperrison.

One of the guys I ride with has a 2004 KTM MXC 450 and I really liked the E-start but I'm coming from a YZ250 and a KDX200 and the wieght was a big factor. I really noticed the wieght. I really like the 6-speed tranny and the broad power.

Thats even better!! How much wieght does it add? I know that thier SX-F450same out with the button. Its on an MX bike so it can't be that much more wieght or they would not have put it on there.
