have a "custom made" one that i have used for years, but also have a pair of troy lee ones......different than mentioned about. they are sweet. prefer the hard shelled types over just padding. if you ever slip and cheese grate your shins on the footboards you will be glad you have them..... http://catalog.troyleedesigns.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=100

I use a pair of Fly Moto-Knee's. Same pair I rock in the summer on my dirt bike. Just a little bit of padding, but plenty to take out some the bruises and swelling I was experiencing before I started wearing them. I got them for like $40 at my local shop:

Wear these too after it took 6 weeks for the scabs to drop off. The scars remind me every day. Warmer knees feel better at the end of a long day. No slip down while riding. Took pads out of Freeride pants. Paid more than him^^^^ but feel naked without. Next is a vest.

Knee/shin guards

I wear Fox Pivot pads. I have had to re-sew them 3 times. I think the 9 year old in Taiwan that they have stitching this stuff needs a vacation. My Fox gloves were the same way. 5 rides and they were garbage. Don't buy Fox!!!

funny enough, my latest is fox... feel a little smaller than the shift ones i'd had before, but we'll see how they hold up to my abuse...
