Knee Guards save knees

When I first bought Klim pants I thought to myself "Sweet, finally no more raw knees". But as time went on, I was noticing that my knees were still raw, despite the Klim knee pads, so I started asking my friends if they were having the same problems. The answer was "no, we wear shin guards" as he whacks his shin with his helmet hard enough to make me cringe. He never flinched.

Really, you guys wear shin guards? REALLY? HA, if you gotta wear shin guards you either need to learn how to ride, or you need to slow the $)@#* down....

Ya right! I bought a 20 dollar pair of Fox Shin Guards from Arctic Motor-sports, and will never look back! They are awesome! How did I ever live without them! If I put my helmet on, I already have my shin guards on.

Last year I hit a snow drift that was half powder and half ice. I smashed my left knee into the back of the cowling hard enough to break a huge chunk out of it, then fell off the sled onto pure ice with my right knee taking most of the abuse. No injury's! None. Without the shin guards I would have been broken and bleeding, no doubt in my mind that accident would have ended my week in Petersville, if not my entire season.

Anyone that is on the fence, please go buy some mx shin guards. They are too cheap to ignore. Get them for all your family members. IF you end up hating them, and just cant seem to justify them, put them up for sale on craigslist or here, I might buy a few extra pairs!

yup

get the fly knee pads that articulate they protect your knee and about 8" above your knee and all the way to your boot, little resistance in motion. i wouldnt dream of riding without them, not with the new rails and pulling buddies out running scags across your shins!!!

but mainly jumping when i land my knees hit the console and even with knee pads on sometimes they hurt!

someone was making fun of me or having knee pads on my sled, in my mind i was like,"ya hes never landed hard" lol

last year my riding partner was ignorant about knee pads, on the way to petersville i stoped in for some oil and while we were there i bough him a set of knee pads. he swares by them now! for the price the protection is worth it, plus you can kneel in the snow without getting your knees all frozen!

sorry about your accident bro hope you have a speedy healing process!

I grabbed some Fly kneepads/shinguards from ***. The cheap pair, they help a **** ton, the back of my cowling is cracked and missing chunks as well

I used Ossur trainers, kind of spendy but the best I found for boarding and riding support wise. They don't have the padding of others though. The DonJoy Armors are good as well if you have had acl work and don't want to go through that crap again.
