KMS, Boondocker, Aerocharer, Turbo Performance??

Still going crazy trying to pick a kit for a KTM. Other than KMS having a good rep, and rumors of Boondocker having plenum problems. What's the 411 nowadays? Has Boondocker got the plenum sorted out? KMS still the king? Aerocharer? What Turbo Performance is doing looks great, but no reports?

RAZE Motorsports is releasing something BIG at the EXPO in Edmonton Alberta this weekend. I will update you as soon as possible. Cant say anymore yet, but stay tuned!!

From what I know I don't think Boondocker has changed there plenum design still using the same design. And for turbo performance they built that turbo kit for snowest magazine as far as I know they dont sell kits but I would talk to Bryce as I think the turbo is off the bike and is just sitting at his shop sure he would sell it to you. And for aerocharger they seem to have a pretty good design haven't heard all that much from them but what I do know is that they are kinda limited to boost as they don't run a secondary fuel injector. KMS seems to be the best at the moment.

Was about to pull the trigger on an Aerocharger as I don't wanna get too crazy with boost, then they raised their price 500 bucks. Wish they would get their can centered under the fender like some of the other brands. But like how they're mounting to the bike subframe, instead of being built for a Timbersled fixed kit.

with the aerocharger turbo kit it was designed for low boost at high elevation. At 7000-7500 ft the bikes stock fuel will run out of duty cylce at 8 psi or a little less. For the price I would get get a kms. I'm not a fan of my Boondocker turbo.. I just relocated my Boondocker turbo kit and built it with a plenum seems to work better now.

My vote is for kms... I visited his location and decided to go front mount... Keep in mind if you are going ball bearing there was a back order for the turbo so I would get in line .. what I liked is a mine could be dyno tuned on site... under a load... Then if an issue does arise while running you can send the file to him to correct the map. The last thing was I could use a pod three display which can show boost , temp, rpm, Afr all on the same screen so you don't need 500 gauges to break off.... Only one;). Lastly he has a lot of ktm machines running his set up... But I know if you are running the bike with wheels his kit would be a pain an arse to remove and reinstall... At least the front mount . Aero charger would be my 2nd choice just was worried about them not having many out. I have just heard to many bad things with boondocker and you can't run tss is what they told me.

Always thought supercharging was the way to go with these... Sits a little low I might be nervous don't know.. but exciting.. would have been all over that if I woukd have known...

From their face book.. it is 6 grand

Our King Kong it is the powder rider's dream come true.*

With 35+ HP gain and reliable HP that works through the entire powerband you can climb higher, dig deeper and go farther with our King Kong Kit. This kit includes the Raze Performance ECU with a powercurve already tuned for track load (not dirt bike tires!) and automatically compensates for changes in altitude. Also includes everything from the stage 1 kit with the following stacked on: billet flywheel cover, billet supercharger bracket, front mounted Pro Charger, electronic boost control, Bosch Fuel Injector, ½” set back foot pegs & shift lever, duel map switch and a cover to keep the snow and water out of the supercharger pulley system. With this kit, you can run any exhaust system you want. With a few basic tools, this kit is extremely fast and easy to install.*

Stop messing around with the limitations of OEM ECU's. Trash the work-arounds, boxes crowding your bars, manual calculations and the constant adjustments that make performance upgrades a hassle. Are you ready to outrun the competition?

So Sexual!

That supercharger is sexy, and the pulley matches right up with the engineering and casing on the Yeti. From what I've researched both companies are on the cutting edge of CAD and 3D printing design.

I put in a inquiry about their KTM ECU today in hopes of finding a unlocked ECU with a snowbike specific map that will allow the use of a Trail Tech Ignition Advance Switch and a Dobeck Gen 4 fuel controller.

Chris Mckinney, the president of Raze emailed me back within the hour to let me know he was currently sitting at the border on the way to the Alberta Snowmobile Show and would get back to me soon. Hopefully he keeps heading straight up to Alaska like I recommended so I can hear that super-whistle in action!

Looked pretty clean

Didn't have a chance to talk to the guys but had a close look! The supercharger sits very closely to the shifter even with the set back foot pegs and short shifter. One of the techs at Argyll said they are still doing the final touches on it but their stuff looked quite good and he was impressed. Especially, on there nitrous/ecu set up. They are claiming 11hp just for the ECU and 20hp for nitrous. This could be a winner!

Did they say anything about protecting the unit with some type of cage... it is scary low.

This, I'm wondering what the ECU does that the manufacturers don't know about. Taking a 450 from 58 to 70hp is massive.

I've looked at the supercharger as much as anyone could except Raze's own employees. I took the photos that are shown above and on their flyer, website, etc..

Attached is a portion of the image used on their flyer. The snow bike was sitting level on an elevated work stand for the photography. You can see that the King Kong supercharger is above the frame tube. Not shown is that almost the entire supercharger is over the ski.

Ok guys, guess the word is out, took a couple extra days to get back to West Yellowstone from Canada and found you all had beat me to it. So now that the King Kong kit is out there let me start answering a few of your questions. First, this is a pre-production King Kong. Those of you that saw it at the Edmonton Snow Show were stoked, but noticed a few small issues we were already working on. Some noticed how close the shifter is to the belt case. This is a small issue we are dealing with. We have two fixes, just need to test them. We will either need to run the kit with a Rekluse or some sort of pneumatic shifting. We understand that some of you love the Rekluse, some hate it. So we are working on the right answer. Another option would be to go with smaller wheels all around, which will allow us to have a smaller case and still build the same amount of boost and allow for full use of the shifter. Second, the air intake is for sure something we are working on. At the least, it will have some sort of helmet and utilize Frog Skin or a like material to keep snow away. We have considered running the intake above the front fender but this creates other issues. The biggest perhaps being noise for the rider. When the Supercharger barks it would be right by your head, not something I personally would enjoy. Third, we have a plate aluminum skid plate that will be included with the kit to protect the Pro Charger.

How does it work?
It all starts off with our Wingman kit from RAZE. The Wingman is our stand alone plug and play ECU that replaces your stock ECU. Using the stock sensors, and a barometric pressure sensor that is on the ECU it fully altitude and temperature compensates as you ride. It also has a strategy that is designed to run the bike as snike, not a dirt bike. We apply maximum timing at all times producing more usable power while watching the crank for any hesitation. If we see a variation in the crank speed, we know we are about to have a knock, once we see this we back the timing off a touch and hold RPM's. This way you never feel the rev limiter. This is technology that no one else in the industry utilizes. Our Thermostat is included with the Wingman. This thermostat can completely shut off the flow of coolant quickly bringing the engine up to operating temp, and is a vital part of the snikes ECU built in strategy. It also has a port for our liquid heated handlebars.
The Raze ECU has full control over the Pro Charger as well. We utilize a re-circulation valve. This technology is used on many modern super cars. The computer commands through the use of an air actuator a spring that controls the blow off valve. Having control of the blow off valve allows us to command boost. With this control we can command any boost value we choose. The King Kong Procharged kit will work at 10,000ft as well as it does at 1000ft. At low elevations we can bleed a lot of boost off so we don't endanger the engine, high elevation the King Kong will build up to 17lbs of boost and keep the bike running at the desired 90 HP.
The King Kong is looking to turn heads everywhere it goes, oh yeah and it whistles on idol!!

Available in Janruary for 2015-2016 KTM 450's
Soon after for 2015-2016 Yamaha 450'S
