KMOD Skinny

I have and I think I will have to adjust these shocks every ride. I had a gut feeling that I would somewhat regret these air shocks but it is what it is.
Next time I will know better.

The Evol pressure for the rear track shock must be 300 psi. Make sure you remove all pressure from the main chamber BEFORE adding/changing the pressure in the Evol chamber. Any pressure in main chamber will not allow you to get a true Evol pressure.

As long as the evol pressure is significantly higher than the main chamber you don't have to empty the main chamber to check and fill the evol chamber. Just set the evol first to make sure the piston is bottomed out in it. Once you know the evol pressure is where you want it you can make adjustments to the main chamber repeatedly without rechecking the evol. As long as you are riding close to the same temperature range you shouldn't have to check pressures every ride. I check mine once a month and rarely see a significant change.

As we get more of these skids out with different riders we get feed back for improvements, I have come up with a shock valve and Evol mod that will hold up bigger guys and higher horse power, it will be able to run a little less pressure on the main chamber for better ride but will firm up the finish at the bottom end of the travel. I would be glad to do this if you can send me your shock.

Cool! This summer I might see if I can get that shock sent to ya. I’m not saying I would ever go back to stock mono rail compared to a kmod noooooo way but I think so improvements can be made or adjusted to make this thing shine!

Just an FYI also.. Kevin now has a offset axle for the Skinny for those that want to run 10" rear wheels, ( correctly )

I have been running Kevin's skinny since November and most have stated what it does for the money.... IT Flat Out Works.-
I have compared the skinny to the stock monorail side x side all season weekly-

ALSO, I can hook a Gal/Gal up if looking to purchase a skinny !!

Sage, have you weighed the Kmod vs stock cat skid? Difference? What track you been using on the skinny?

I have another skinny coming in this week to mount up in a 2020 Alpha.... I will try to get exact figures...
What I have initially found from my first install the numbers are so close that it's a wash comparing them. No significant difference in total weight- but 100% in both handling and strength!!

Does the stock Alpha track work on the Kmod? I have a ‘21 165 I’d like to throw the skinny in.
100% it does .. Your are retaining your stock drivers and track- we are just replacing the weak monorail with a much better alternative.. So your not removing the track at all for the install

Check out my picture in Post #28 also That is the stock 165 Alpha track.. Also here below..

I have summer pricing going on - and sent ya a P/M

Had a good discussion yesterday with Jason Nethercott about this skid. He said when Kevin first set him up with one to try he wasn't a big fan of it. Shock calibrations were off for him. Took a few iterations of shock revalves to get it to his liking. They also ended up reducing the volume in the rear Evol chamber. Without doing that he said it would blow through the last 20% of the stroke and bottom all the time. Now he likes it a lot. This is running on a supercharged sled with SX spindles raising the front 1.5" and 285lb rider weight geared up. So anyone that got an early version and is having ride issues get ahold of Kevin and make sure your shocks have been updated to the newest calibrations.
