Klim is the way to go, simply put they make the best gear. I have a set of klim boots and they are great. My feet always stay dry, warm, and very comfortable. the only draw back is that they are so damn expensive.
I had Klim. Awesome stuff. Too stiff for me. Felt restricted. This was 6 or 7 years ago. Otherwise. Awesome gear. Light, breathable, warm.
I wear HMK now. Love it in every way. Only issue I have is with the boots. I knew it going in, my feet will always be at least damp in my HMK's. TOasty warm and great support. But always at least damp. Which kinda sucks.
I recently bought Klim boots (they were in stock, needed to order HMK), and just really prefer the HMK- more comfy, esier to lace, but they are bulkier.... and as far a damp feet - yep (same with Klim), but always warm - so never an issue 'till I take my boots off - have a dry pair of socks handy and problem solved!
this is a good topic
i don't doubt that KLIM is the shizzzz...its GORE TEX
BUT everyone wears it....
i have always worn snowboard gear..by far the best water/wind protection & super comfy
but after 2.5 years w it, it definalty is not as tough as actual snowmobile gear
i too wouldl ike to upgrade, and am thinking HMK
i wear the PRO boots in white w the laces not the BOA system
feet are DRY all day
i was up to my knees in a creek this year (digging my bro in law out) and my feet got soaked
we though for sure i would be done early casue my feet would be cold
i didnt even take my boots off and ring out my socks and by the end of the day...DRY!
boots are AWESOME, good support, look sweet and AFFORDABLE
Klim from head to feet. I had a pair of HMK boots but didn't like them...too stiff. Since then, I've got everything with Klim on it. Sure, they were spendy, but no issues whatsoever in the 3 years I have had them now.
Sounds to me you should try both if possible, I can only comment on the Klim have the adrenaline boot (feet stay dry but will get cold when standing around in colder conditions) thought they were money well spent ($159). Also have the Valdeze jacket, kinda always thought it was overpriced but now that I'm on my third season and it is still in excellent cond. also keeps me dry. I don't think you can go wrong with either brand both are great product, I don't know how HMK's warranty is but it sound like KLIM's is top notch from what I have heard and read on here. I had a pair of inversion gloves that ripped within the first few rides, Helmet Outlet replaced them w/out issue. Good luck on your decision.
