KLIM knee repair???

Has anyone been successful reparing and/or reinforcing the knee area on Klim Tog Bibs? I have 2 small tears in one knee. I would like to put a patch over it but I still want them to be waterproof. What have you done?

Not Tog bibs, but freeride pants. Last season while making some adjustments on my sled with it running, my knee hit the spinning clutch and it put a cut in the knee about 1 inch long.

Took a pair of old ski pants and cut 2 patches out of them one for the inside and one for the outside. Stitched them one and have had NO issues at all. You can't hardly even notice it. I will try and post some pics.

If you don't have old ski pants you can get this nylon type fabric at any fabric store.

Early last season I bumped the exhaust on my sled. Bibs were brand new, sent them back to Klim they repaired them by replacing a panel, cost me like $50 (my fault) but it kept the waterproof and warranty in place, they still look great as well!

Give them a call!

Honestly, for the cost of the bibs I would send them in. If it's only going to cost $50ish to have repaired you'll have the Gore-Tex warranty in tacked. We are early enough in the pre-season you could easily have them back before it snows.

Just my opinion.

Did the same thing! They replaced the panel and they look great. Still waterproof and still warrantied. Spend the $50 and have them do it. You will be glad you did. Plus is you start gluing or sewing on the pants that will probably void any warranty for the future if you need it.

There is a lot of Debate on the forum about Klim. I for one have never had a problem with any of their products. Had a pair of gloves wear out last year, they were four years old had had been used damn near every weekend of those seasons...

Check out their site: http://www.klimusa.com/pages/snowaboutcontactklim.aspx

Also here is a bit of an email from them on my repair:

Thanks so much for writing in! I apologize for the delayed response. Klim does offer repairs for our products. All repairs start at $50 and go up from there depending on the damage done.
We do not offer patch kits or anything like that. When the repair is done in house by our Gore certified seamstress, it is a visible patch, it keeps your warranty intact, looks great and will be re-goretexed.

If you choose to have this done, you will need to call into customer service at your convenience and there we can set you up with a Repair
number and all the information will be taken that is needed to get things rolling. I hope this information helps you out. We appreciate your business and your support of Klim products!!
