KLim jacket and bib's ?

Was going to get some new riding gear for this winter, and was looking into the Klim stuff. Everyone i talk to swears by the stuff.......But are you just paying for the name? (compared to the the other Gortex jackets and bibs) Or is it really worth the money? What do you Klim guy's wear for jacket and bibs?

Extreme pants and Klimate jacket.
The Klimate jacket is a LOT cheaper than the Klims top of the line stuff and isn't as warm, however I wear the Jacket over my B-wear vest and the 2 make for a nice warm ride in temps down to -20f. Once the temps start to climb in the spring the Klimate has lots of vents to take care of the excess heat. Works great. 2 seasons now and zero complaints.

hey Ryan
the tog bibs are great and if you get to haydays early you can get great deals on closeout klim

what are you doin up so early?haha threw you some rep

Not going to make it to Haydays this year:(....Just to busy at work to take the time off.Stuck here from 3am till 3pm!! But anyway.......I think i might go toward the Valdez parka and the Extreme bib... Im going to stop by Heinans today on my way home and check them out(maybe Paul will hook me up!....lol)

I was in the ski industry most of my life and there's nothing as good as Klim! Look at it as a 10 year investment, the warrenty is outstanding and you won't have to buy anything for years.

I've been wearing the Valdez parka and Togwotee bibs for a few seasons now. By far the best gear I have ever had. They truely are in a league of their own. I just wear my under protector and a moisture wicking layer. I've ridden -20 numerous times without ever getting cold.
They made some really nice changes to their line up this season. Really improved the Valdez and Togwotee. New "comfort mapping". Basically this translates into better comfort and improved mobility.
We are offering a free pair of Togwotee gloves when you buy the jacket and pants together.
The Tomahawk parka is basically last years valdez with standard gore-tex instead of the pro shell. Most of the pants recieved a new leg zipper configuration to minimize binding and ease getting in and out. The lower boot snap has been relocated to prevent ice build up.

I just bought my valdez late this year, its the 08 model, do you happen to know the difference between the XCR gortex and the new pro shell?

As for it being just the name, I have had other gortex jackets and pants that do not work nearly as well, so I would have to say no, its the quality and service that stands out most for me, and thats what you pay for.

I have the Togwotee bibs and they've been excellent.

I have an F4 and the Togwotee gloves too, I'm probably gonna have a Valdez this year too ..

Worth the price IMO.

The new Pro Shell breathes better and is more durable.

Part of the reason of the cost is due to the fact that you have a lifetime warranty (Lifetime of the Garmet) Klim and Gore Tex back their products and you can't beat that.

The Pro Shell also has 9 billion pores per square inch which allow the breathability to be so great. These pores are 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet which is why it will not leak.

Wore the Togwotee bibs and the Valdez all last year. Will NEVER wear anything but Klim again...... It was that different.. Never once got wet It was amazing. In the sprig i picked up the powercross pullover on clearance .. Rode several times in 15 to 20 degree weather never got cold. Wonderful stuff

I will be starting to put out 09 gear this week! Sort of a one man show around here when it comes to this stuff so bear with me. Goal is to have the store changed over by Oct 1st for winter.
Prior years of of the valdez used the gore-tex xcr, last year they switched to what is called pro shell. The pro shell is supposed to be more durable. Both are about 25% more breathable than standard gore-tex. This means quicker moisture displacement and more comfort for the wearer.
Team2 and I just got back from a 3 day gore-tex seminar. I think I'm still dizzy from all we learned.

hell i just go to runnings farm and fleet and buy a 25 dollar pair and they are just as warm as anything i have ever had i do have a cold wave coat that is warm but before that i just wore my columbia coat that was good to. I just dont understand why paying alot of money for all that when you can pay a little and get just as good. Just my 02

Klim

I had Klim, and really don't have anything bad to say about it...it's good stuff. But I am now a ToBe wearer and LOVE LOVE LOVE the stuff. You can't go wrong with the Klim if that is what you want, but do check out the ToBe gear! :face-icon-small-coo

Have been wearing the Klim togwatee bibs and valdez jacket for a couple of years now and love them. Use the rest of the Klim layers for adjusting to the temps and they do work great. I have everybody I ride with converted to Klim now after they kept coming back to the trailer to change at the end of the day and they would be sweating wet and I would always be dry. They do work.
