So what are your experiences with the Klim PowerXross Pullovers?

This year I'm up for new gear and not sure which way to go. I like the idea of a lightweight pullover, but does it really work or should I just get one of that larger full coats?

Also, I have a pair of Klim pants that are a few years old now and the waterproofiness is pretty much gone. Does anyone know of a tried and true way to recondition these?

Stupid economy

If the waterproofness is gone, send them back to Klim for testing. If the waterproofness is gone, they send you a new pair. I just sent a pair of extreme bibs in with a nasty tare in one leg. 40 bucks and it's all good.

YOu can just call Klim. They will give you a customer id number and address to send it in. They will test it. If it tests ok, you can use a product they have to recondition it.

My bibs were starting to let moisture in around the can area. I used this http://buyklim.com/revivex.aspx

Klim sells a product called Revivex. Its like $10 and you wash your Klim gear in it. It really helps to reseal the fabric.

As for the powerxross pullover... its what i wear. I wear underarmor shirt, the Klim inferno fleece, tekvest and then pullover. Never cold. Sometimes too hot, but never cold!

Call Klim and ask about Revivex or sending your pants in if you want to go that route.

I have a Klim powerxross pullover that I have used over the past few years. Great jacket. I'm trying the Klim Valdez this year.

nice thing about this years powerxross pull over is it zips on the side so you can open it and for us bigger shoulder guys it's easier to get in

use Revivex if you dont want your bibs to be sent in and checked out

all you do is spray it on and put it in the dryer on medium heat

Klim Gore-tex

Hello:

Klim flew a few dealers out to the Gore-Tex factory a few months ago and here is what they told us.

Most people, me included, make the mistake of washing and not drying their Klim or never washing it.

*** Gore-Tex said that you NEED to wash and DRY your Klim gear at least once if not twice a year. The washing process cleans out the fabric materials and the drying process rejuvenates the waterproofing within the fabric.

Dry on low heat.

We plan on having an article on our web site about this within the next couple of weeks.

Thanks
Mark

Most get wet issues with gore-tex is body sweat/oils plugging the pores off the gore-tex which lets the water in.As Mark stated wash gear at least once a year with mild detergent and tumble dry on low heat if you still have get wet issues. If it's Klim gear call Klim at 1-208-552-7433 and get a warranty return #

I have the valdez coat and I LOVE IT !!!!!! Last year I bought the pullover and I have not worn the coat since. Riding in 5 degree weather and the pulllover is still warm enough.. Not sure I would want to spend the night in it, but for riding it cannot be beat. I agree with Phatty. dress for weather under it.

Mark, you weren't there ;) What he stated is correct though. Don't baby your Klim clothing. They said you can give them about 40 washings before you need to renew the waterproofing. ReviveX is a good choice for doing so when the time comes. Just try washing it in a mild detergent and drying it as Mark stated.
I wear my Tomahawk parka all year round. I've used it in a downpour on the supermoto. I've put it through all day rain and mud woods riding a few times this year. I just throw it in the wash and it comes out looking brand new. And each time I test the water proofing it passes with flying colors.
As for snowmobiling, I also have the Valdeze Parka and Togwotee bibs. If you are an aggressive rider and get warm easily. I tend to think the pullover with the freeride pants would be a better option. I'm really leaning towards those myself, but I doubt budget will allow this year. :(

I have a couple pretty good tears in my bibs, i think they're the extreme bibs. I bought them a few years ago. one guy (ollie i think) said you can just send them in. do they send you new ones or repair yours?

They repaired em. They don't warrenty damage from use.
They replaced the entire lower panel (knee down) on the left leg of my extreme bibs.
50 bucks including shipping.

Good info...thanks for posting. I would have never considered drying my gear in the dryer or even washing it for that matter.

Another here.... I normally only use a lightweight thermal, maybe a lightweight fleece jacket, most of the times I wear a wool sweater, bwear vest and then the pullover. If you are riding aggressively it is definitely warm enough.... Towards the end of the season I don't wear the middle layer.....

I love the pullover style... I used to ride in a hoodie till I bucked up the money for a good pullover... sad that not many companies make them anymore.

Another one here who loves the Pullover. If a girl can stay warm in it, you should have no issues!

thats awesome, I'm going to show the girlfriend this and hope she learns. For some reason the temps that she is happy with don't tend to support a nice snow base so...

Thanks for all the advice about the pullover. I appreciate it.

What are most people layering with. i just bought the Valdez parka. My old jacket had a fleece liner. I was thinking under armor, then fleece vest or jacket,
then parka.
