Klim Helmet........dang plastic fins!

Are the fins the horizontal piece that covers the ram air vents on the back of the head?

The vents are on top, too.

What part is breaking?
I just got an F4, and realized after I took it home that of the 3 vents starting top center going down the back, the radius piece that covers the vent is broken. (hope I explained O.K.)

The helmet is brand new, and I can just take it back, but if this is the fin you guys are having replaced, I'll just have the dealer order a new piece from Klim.

yes its the black plastic piece on top of the vents... the helmet rides just fine without them, just doesnt direct as much airflow down through the helmet...

This helmet is fantastic for summer riding! nice and cool!

The point of this topic is to address the plastic fins that break off, the other 4 guys i know that have this hemlet all have broken fins.......is it a big deal?.....not really, its just looks kinda ugly

if you are worried about looking ugly, I might have suggested a different helmet.

Is it true that a frozen head doesn't sweat?

the helmet comes with two liners, one thicker then the other.....i ride is warm Utah and i did not get a frozen head last year. 15-30 degrees is a typical day......hell i only wear one layer under my Klim pant and jacket now that im away from Alaska.....oh i got some horrid stories about riding in AK, way too cold!!!!!

So my Klim helmet was $263 from a Klim dealer. I've seen 2 dealers selling their Klim stuff for cost or $20 over.
Bought my Radium GTX boots from the same dealer for $160 list was $220.
Seems to be alot of deals on this Klim stuff right now.

Did you get a Klim helmet?

Not yet but since both my old lids have had a couple of "incidents" I'm thinking of it but going to try out some others before I buy.
