KLIM GEAR.....my experience

I just wanted to tell everyone my experience with Klim Gear. There is always a lot of HMmming and Haaaaing about prices you spend on their gear. I did a lot of that myself before finally deciding to jump on the band wagon.

I have a pair of Freeride Klim pants that I have had since Christmas of 06' so 2 seasons of riding on them. Well I went out elk hunting with my bro's in the snow and ended up getting wet through the seat of the pants and in the crotch area. Soon as I got home I phoned up Klim and told them of my situation to which they replied send them in and we'll inspect them and get you taken care of..........

I finally was going to put their "Lifetime" warranty to the test! My pants were in great condition...no tears, holes, etc. I sent my pants to them on the 10th and I just got my NEW pair in the mail today. 5 day turnaround and they sent me THIS YEARS BRAND NEW pants. :D

So they have a customer for life.........There gear is exactly what they say, GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY. An outstanding company and experience. This just re-affirmed to me that spending the money was well worth it. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Thank you KLIM

Happy Customer

ok, now for us canadians......shipping....

did you have to pay for the shipping to klim??

and you have one post.....very fishy fishy

Thats great. Ive heard they really stand behind their coats and pants. I own them, and I agree they are worth every penny.

Their boots and gloves are absolute junk though. I wish they would stand behind this stuff the same.

Buddy of mine had very similar experience, but his stuff was 4 years old and they upgrade him to the new stuff because his line was no longer available. That's customer service.

Just sent in my 5 year old Valdez Parka. Had a torn pocket from falling off my sled. Also sent in my 1 year old bibs that had torn bottoms from rubbing up on my running boards. Sent them in to Klim and they charged me $25 for repairs. The jacket looks new again and they re-did the bottom of the bibs so they look new. That is a deal in my book. I hammered my gear.

Yes I paid the shipping to them.......

I have one post because I don't post here much but do look around. I spend my time over on DT. Posted plenty on there.

BUT....I don't see what a post count would have to do with a company honoring their warranty and providing GREAT customer service.

I did the same thing earlier this year. Turned in 4 year old pants cause of a broken zipper and they were starting to leak. Was expecting a repaired set of pants and instead I got a brand new pair of bibs of this years model. Great service in my book. And yes I paid shipping to send in my old ones. I dont mind paying 6 bucks for a new set of pants. No they didn't charge shipping for them to ship them to me. Oh yeah and I sent them in on a Friday and had new ones back on wednsday the next week. I guess it helps that I am in Utah and they are in Idaho. Not too far to travel. Oh yeah customer for life here as well.

I got a pair of the Klim boxers that came apart from the elastic wasteband, I think its a defect, then again they might be just chewing there own leg off trying to get away from me :D I am dieing to see if they are going to want me to return these, or if they are just gonna ship me out a new pair

I think for us Canadians, paying for the shipping on returning a warranty item is fairly standard unless you can return them to a store for small items.

Had you ever washed the pants? If you did had you retreated the fabric like you are supposed to? I'm just wondering because a lof of people don't do that and then wonder why things weren't as they were the day they bought them.

If you wash the gear, you need to retreat the fabric with Revive X from W.L. Gore industries to maintain the performance of the fabrics. Any Gore Tex needs this done after washing for top performance.

I'm glad Klim took care of you, probably took care of you because you remained professional on the phone etc instead of loosing your head like so many people do on here.

Sorry, it happens alot of forums, people with one post....it could simply be someone backing up klim. and the state their in is not good, with them supporting the greenies and all(totally different thread...sorry)

see me being in canada...its not worth it to ship it back half the time, then you probably have to pay for the shipment back as well.....it'd be like a $100 all said and done(if dont by ups) with brokerage and gst duty etc etc.

and i dont know about most people but i myself have never shipped anything to the states to return/warranty something and dont plan on paying for it!

who's fault is it if the product needs warranty.....not I, its klims fault. why should i have to pay a freaking extra dollar.

:beer; I need snow

$100? seriously? you need to look into some different shipping methods, even if it was that outrageous, which it is not, I would still send them in for a free pair of pants after 2 years, this years model to boot, and I dont believe they are in any state on these forums, as it came out in the thread which I have read, its very hard to buy anything without supporting greenies in one way or another, I think most others would come out with the same idea.

Just out of curiousity, what have you sent to the states for a warranty claim that they paid shipping for? Its standard practice for the industry, I paid shipping when my wife had to send a couple of the kitchenaid kitchen tools in, I paid shipping when my canon camcorder had a recall, just out of recent items, the only things I have not paid shipping for was when I could either return it to the store, or on big box items that you simply cannot ship back.

You can actually put your Klim gear through the washer and dryer about 40 times before you need to retreat it with the Revive X. Don't be afraid to wash your gear. Dirt, oil, grim etc.. can get into the pores of the fabric and reduce it's efficiency.
C-MAN, I'm glad you had a positive experience. They really are a great company.

Is it just me or are all these "Klim Gear" threads are beginning to wear (No Pun Intended) a little thin.
Are there a lot of dealers on here trying to flog this stuff or what? We're beginning to sound like a bunch of women........."What are you wearing?"

NO....showing off what you wear has nothing to do with it at all. The intent of my post was for those who may be thinking that the price is a little steep, which it IS. Many may be nervous to spend that kind of money on snowmobile clothing. I was simply just stating my experience for those people so that they can be reassured that they get what they pay for, and that KLIM really does back up their product. That was all......in the economy these days, seems everyone is trying to cut corners and so when I sent in my pants I didn't know what to expect. It was a great transaction for me and one in which I felt they deserved a little recognition out there to the industry and people that would care.

I never ship or return anything back to the states cause its a pain and a waste of my time and costly. yes you would have to prepay the shipping all the way to klim and pay for it to be shipped back. I dont know if your from canada or not, but it add's up shipping crap to the states. sorry but the standard bull**** corporate company bs practice is a waste of my time so i avoid it all if i can. at our shop if our garanteed product fails within the warranty period, we cover all shipping costs. their and back. thats called "customer service" like i said, it not my fault the product is failing, why should i have to pay more?

Understood.......but look ahead a couple of days and you'll see how many Klim Gear threads have been beaten to death on here. Repeat threads happen, but I found it sort of funny how there were 3 Klim threads going at the same time at one point. That's why I joked about us sounding like a bunch of women, no offense to you.
