klim f4 helmet. tell me if i'm wrong

Who cares if it runs thru or not. Powder snow is going to sit/clog and make that fuggin thing weigh 6 lbs.

Besides that, its the ugliest fugging thing ever made for sleddin.

Fuglyer than a : fawkin one piece pink skin tight suit wearing assbandit with 2 ski's and a wad of cash. LOL

yes i have gortex sh*t! that still is not going to stop the water running through the helmet itself. i just sprayed it with nozzle from the sink water ran straight through it.i might as well be wearing a strainer on my head.

are you serious?

**** I'll take the damned thing back then.

Here we go again  So after 4 years in developement without this being an issue you are going to magically develope a problem.
Please raise your hand if any of you have actually closed the vents on your current helmet.......yeah didn't think so.
In their testing, most of the riders out west never even put the gore-tex liner in. hmmm now the testers had no complaints with snow running through the helmet. And I would bet they were riding to extremes. I don't recall Brad Story saying anything negative about the helmet. Actually, I'm usually quite hot when riding so alittle snow dripping on my head would be welcome. ;) if it were to happen.
If this is a concern with any of you I would suggest installing the Gore-tex liner that Klim so convenientlly included with this helmet. Your body heat will allow the gore-tex fabric to do what it does and disperse moisture away from your head.
Once again I love all the bashing of a product that absolutely no one has tried. Let all the arm chair experts voice their opinions. Since the release of thes helmet I have read but one negative article and that was in Transworld motocross mag. And his biggest complaint was on the looks (fair enough) , but judging from his other comments it was apparent that he never even ridden mx with the helmet on, or he would have known what he was writing was crap. Jees I'm ranting alot this evening. Peace everyone. :D

Have one

Buy one size larger than your used to.

It works very well. Didnt build up snow, didnt get my head wet.

Front wind guard worked very well. Rode in 10deg F temps with no balaclava and was comfortable. No goggle fogging from breath either.

Kind of weird looking but F*** it. I cant see it while im riding!:face-icon-small-win

Rode with my f4 this weekend and although it wasn't deep powder conditions I found it to work very well with the venting and had a very comfortable fit. So far so good imo

P.A.I.D

Whip it, whip it good!!! Funny stuff!
I got roped into buying one of these, and actually have 0 buyers remorse after wearing it one day (it was deep too, constant face shots). I normally sweat like a mule, I usually take my helmet off and am just dripping. I barely broke a sweat in this thing, only once when I left it on while digging a sled out (I rarely left my other helmet on while digging, cuz I sweat so bad). The snow that got stuck on the helmet didn't melt and drip through, but it makes for some good forum bashing anyways on us whip it purchasers.

I have two rides on mine now. Gortex liner is a must on over hood powder days. The only complaints I have are they are sized small and the assortment of goggles I've been using for years dont fit inside the front opening of the helmet well enough to seal against my face.

YOUR WRONG II.

In a few years all helmets will try to copy.
Better buy for me (and I don't sweat too much) than their Gortex boots (the only spot for me that NEEDS to breath lol).
B*ll**** on the water running through. Comes out the back where it would run off anyway.
Sizing is the same as any other brand, takes longer to break-in than most, back cut-away higher than any other and makes it feel like it sits too high. The last feature (back cut-away higher) is something I didn't notice. All the other MX type helmets pushed my head from jacket collar and back pack when "wippin' it" lol. No sore necks ever now.
Feels like beany on my bike now. It's great.

Only complaint I got is in the clouds at speed the wind whistle is too loud. Anyone else notice this? Gonna try prefilter on the cheek ports.
Adding: You do need the older, smaller, lighter goggs of old, but you get complete protection with them. I'm happy I will not need to improvise (tape, foam, etc.) to stop the frostbite. I'd be prettier today if I had this lid 30 yrs ago lol.

You guys. The ones that are so concerned about their looks. Jeepers creepers just take it off for the poses.
Reminds me of why I quit MX. It became more important to polish and change your gear between motos than adjusting gearing or jetting. Had to wash, brush hair and teeth for trophy presentation and photo ops. Put on the right hat and another fresh jersey or the sponsers would fax a memo on Mon. lol.

Whats' this world coming to. Even Marks Work Wearhouse has different shades of Carharts sized more to show off your butt than to work in the dirt lol.

Don't knock the helmet 'till you try it. You'll have a similar design soon anyway.

I have a couple of rides on mine and like it so far. My only complaint is the same as above that goggles dont fit in the opening very well. I did fog a couple of pair of goggles because of the fit.

constant face shots huh.... what the h#ll were you doing?? lmfao

I got two rides with this helmet:

The good:
-very light
-Breath deflector works great
-two head socks and two sizes of check pads
-comes with a trendy bag

The bad:
-Side check pads get wet, very wet
-Head is much cooler, might be too cold when it gets colder around here
-The helmet seems to ride high on my head
-My goggles don’t seal over my face very tight
-Check pads seem tight, while the rest of the helmet is loose

Regardless, I really want to make this helmet work for me, some simple duct tape of RTV on the vents will look funky, but only fags look in the mirror before they ride

WOW.....spend that much on a helmet and fix it with duct tape?????????

For those of you having issue with the goggles sealing. The Spy Omega/Magneto frame fits and seals perfectly. I haven't tried the Alloy series yet, but they worked great on my Fox F3 helmet and they share a similar cut.
Alot of you seem resistant to change. I have never seen a helmet put under the microscope as much as this one has. Everyone had their negative theories and they seem to be getting proved wrong.
Much like a first year sled you wil see some quirks, but overall I think it's a winner.

I have a pair of Dragon goggles that fit decent, but my scott's fit terrible. It also seems that the helmet rides higher on my head. Overall I really like the helmet, so I am going to look at the spy goggles and see what I think.
