King Cat Power valves

Anyone ever try and pin open or weld the stock power valve assembly open and remove the cables.

i did it to my m1000. Both cables busted so i used a hose clamp and pinned them open. Didn't notice a difference in performance or fuel consumption. They only thing was that i had to stop the servo motor from turning or else it would go into limp mode. I just wired it so it wouldn't turn. Im either gonna get some new cables or the delete kit. With cables at $75 each i dont want to be replacing those all the time.

I was just wondering since they have delete kits for the newer cats if anyone tried it.

It made mine a little blubbery (is that a word?) on the bottom end. Can't say for sure on the mileage, only ran it that way for a ride or two while I was waiting for the STM kit to show up.

It will only hurt performance on the bottom end, thats when they are closed. They dont open till like 6800 rpm. You will lose a little torque, I cant say if it will even be noticable by the seat of the pants. The problem you run into is the sled going into limp mode. If you can find a way around that then go for it, if thats what you want to do. There is a company that make a delete kit for it and a thing that plugs into your computer so it doesnt go into limp mode. I cant remember who it is, someone on here will.
If you are running a good oil, and you get the cables adjusted properly to start with you really dont have to mess with them. Maybe once a year clean them out, take a total of 10 minutes.

I'm sure there is more than one outfit making the bypass chip but I got mine from STM. I want to say $65.00. Seat of the pants I sure noticed the difference on the bottom but I spend a lot of time in the trees at low speeds. It ran way fat. No difference on the top.
