kick starters

looking at putting a kit on my 06 crf 450r wondering how hard the bikes r to kick start in the snow. Would it be worth putting a kit on this bike or just wait till i get a bike with estart?

Estart is very nice but it's not a show stopper. It's really not that bad kicking the bike over with the kit on. Sure, there are times when you are tired from tipping the bike back up and it's flooded and you wish that estart was available. My start button froze and shattered on my last ride and I did miss it for the second half of the day.

Nice to have, but not worth trading in a good bike.

My buddy and I both ride bikes without e-start. Haven't really seen a issue with it. Unless like stated before, your tired and your bike is flooded then e-start would be nice. I was concerned about starting my bike to. But it all worked out in the end

Once you have e-start....you wont go back!

Electric start would be nice but most e-start bikes are trail bikes and don't have the power of your crf450r, make sure it's jetted right and it will start fine, just ask Allen at Timbersled he has a 04 crf450r that he was running last year and it started fine.

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to have electric start on my KX450 but I don't and the CRF450r does'nt either so jet it right and ride what you have. I can start my bike by hand if i need to in a bad situation.

thanx for the replys. Put a down payment on a timber kit should have it for next week, going to give the sport sport a try.

Don't forget to route your carb vent hoses to air box ! I sold my sled and am only snowbiking and loving it with no regrets !
