Khoas shock settings.

There is an alan set screw keeping the collar from turning. Its fairly concealed, but it’s there!

Yep, that’s how my FTS is, single large plastic collar with allen pinch screw:

I’ve got mine loosened all the way and still the spring is shorter then manual specs for default installed spring length. Maybe this needs to be measured with limiter straps released? Either way, I’m going to tighten it up a bit as I’m finding it a little too planted.

RTS uses a single standard aluminum collar, ski shocks use double locking aluminum collars.

I stand corrected master one! After a closer look, you’re right, its a jamb nut.

I was literally adjusting my buddy’s front Khaos shock hours before commenting snd clearly the front is different than the skid shock.

All good Sheetmetalfab [emoji1306] You can never know these days because everybody instantly attacks everybody on this forum and it’s getting pretty sad. I’m all for good fun and poking at each other, it’s is my nature too. It seems most is not good fun and straight up being cruel!

Got it loose. Thanks!

The rts collar doesn't wanna spin much either. Even with the sled lifted without weight on the shock. I couldn't find a set screw or anything holding it from spinning.

Hmmm, Odd…. Try some wd-40 and let it soak a bit. The spring should turn and turn that jamb nut. MikeMetzger We turned yours easily, but your hulk right. Not quite as green, but close[emoji23][emoji23][emoji1785]

That’s a bit weird. The fts had the set screw but the rts turned fine on mine. What I did notice with my Khaos is the track shock preload lengths were way off from where Polaris said they spec’d them. Front one doesn’t even go to Polaris max length spec unless you include the top collar in the measurement, which is an odd choice. Rear one was almost entirely backed off.

Front shocks were spot on though

I noticed the same discrepancies on my Khaos. I don't think these springs are set too precisely from factory, and I've also found that the owner's manual and full service manual have slight differences in spring length spec.

After digging in a bit, this is what I've noted:

FTS: The limiter straps keep the front track shock under compression, even when the skid is fully un-weighted. Mine measured 15.8cm from factory which at first seemed a lot tighter than spec, until I released the limiters and found it to be 16.45cm, which is right on the money. Now when I adjust this spring, I factor in the 6.5mm of "limiter strap compression" when comparing to spec or considering the minimum installed length.

RTS: Mine came set at 26.6cm, which is 6mm looser than the owners manual specs, but the service manual specs 26.7cm. Pretty big difference, but probably should be setting this one by measured sag with full gear anyway, and/or adjust to preference.

IFS: On the front mine were close to spec (both manuals agree here), but right side spring was 2mm tighter than left.

Bottom line? Just choose something in the ballpark to start with, keep notes, and play around until you find what works for you.
