Bought a 2022 matryx khaos 850 brand new. Has about 60 miles on it so far in low elevation, (upper peninsula) I took it easy but now I’m starting to open it up more. Sled hits 7700-8000 rpm and if I hold it for a few seconds it’ll open up more and hit 8250. My 21 khaos never did this. Is it normal during break in to not be able to hit peak rpm with the extra oil being added above 5500 rpm?

I have the same sled, and ride relatively low elevation. My Khaos behaves differently then you describe, even through break-in. I have factory low elevation clutching with 70g weights. At 3000', in a foot of powder or so, it'll hit 8300 rpm and quickly settle in around 8150 - 8200. Above 5000', it struggles to break 7900 rpm.

What clutching do you have?

If your only at 60 miles I wouldn’t worry about it too much yet. I’d wait till at least over 100 miles before doing too much to clutching. Your in the UP, pretty much sea level to 1,000 feet? You can get your belt deflection, alignment and belt to sheave clearance spot on. Some are coming way off from the factory.
