K&N prefilter needed ??

I've got a round,straight K&N on my switchback and I'm wanting to know if I need the prefilter fabric sleeve over it to help protect from moisture?. .they make a dry one that is supposed to be for snowmobiles so I'd think it should help ..?? . ..thanks. .

Its a must. I just got mine and the snow just slides right off. Before The prefilter I had snow all over my filter.
